[Release] Omnisphere 2 Preset Browser for Komplete Kontrol \ Maschine

Happy to see the site up and running. Donated towards both preset packs and look forward to using them this weekend hopefully.

 

Hi all ... I got the donor version and it works great. However, I am not seeing the presets in MAschine, I am seeing them in Komplete Kontrol ... Do I need to do something?

Just got this today, it works a treat. Would love if you could add control for Granular / Unison / Waveshaper / FM / Ring Modulation all of which are found on A / B Oscillator Zoom. Great work though, love being able to automate the Orb, it was quite difficult to do using the Omni TR app...

 

Can someone help me get these presets into Maschine? They work in standalone Komplete Kontrol - but I don't see them in Maschine ???

 

Go to preference in kontrol ,go to library ,find out where they are ,path wise ,open maschine and go preference go to library ,maybe try rescan , if not manually add them using the paths from kontrol , this is how I add samples etc not done any presets yet

 

Possibly find the same thread as this over at the Maschine forums. I know it will work, many users have let me know it works the same way, but not being a Maschine user I am unable to assist.

In regards to adding more controls to the presets, this is not really possible without redoing all 10,000 of them again. There are some that I would love to have added thinking back now but I also tried to not flood the pages with every control and adding all those controls for both A/B would have added another several pages which starts to get a little bloated. All I can say is when you dial in a preset you like and you need those controls, simply add them to the preset on-the-fly, at least 95% is already done.

 

You have to add them in Maschine under Preferences->Library->User->Add -> c:\Users\......\NativeInstruments\UserContent and do a rescan

 

Thanks! It works great However like another poster stated, it's a bit confusing that the tagging does not follow Omnisphere. Sometimes it does and sometimes it do not. I would much prefer an Omisphere 1:1 Nks version. Even though it might be logical to you to follow a tagging that you are used to, I do believe that anyone who has worked with Omnisphere before would prefer to use the original tagging they are used to in Omnisphere and can verify in the Omnisphere browser. Having a Nks mapping different from the Omnisphere library is counterproductive especially since a user most likely still will use parts of Omnisphere's browser with soundmatch etc....

I'll happily donate again for a 1:1 version

 

Many of the tags the other poster was complaining about were changed already. The integration with KK is not designed to completely replicate or replace the Omnisphere browser, personally I use that more than KK browser as it is FAR more superior. The aim was to simply allow access to the presets from within KK when you simply need a certain sound while at your keyboard. I did not want to over complicate this by adding tags that would bloat up the browser. I actually spent a lot of time deciding how to best place things and when you combine it with other VSTs it makes much more sense to do it that way than to simply label everything the same as Omnisphere and have a number of duplicate categories with slightly different names. It's not perfect but neither is KK for managing all of this either.

However...

You do not need me to do it for you, you can rename any of the tags on mass by selecting Omnisphere then the tag you want to rename. Select ALL patches then create a new tag then unselect the old one. That way you can make them exactly as you like but as I found with O2, they got a little lazy with their tagging and even made some new tags which almost no sounds fall under. Go nuts. I certainly won't be doing any retagging as the scripts alone to design just to do that part took me over a week to design and test let alone the weeks it takes to chug through.

 

Im having some difficultuies with changing controls in the presets in Trillian. Some of the controls especially in the bottom of the main page where the 4 extra buttons are normally located does not work when I assign them to the controller. They will get assigned to a control but when I turn it - the do not follow ?? While assigning a button, I can turn the control in Trillian and see the control in Ni move and take the name of the control - but the minute I try to turn the Ni control - nothing happens with the encoder in Trillian?

Any Ideas ?

 

Not sure, seems strange. Can you post a screen shot of the controls you are talking of and also mention the name of the trilian preset. I can have a look at least. Also if you are windows or mac.

 

I´m on a mac. I tried to alter the Upright Bas Character 1 preset, renaming and altering som the controls of the main/easy page. Worked fine, but after a save and restart the controls came unresponsive. I´we also tried to alter some Moog-bass presets and some of the controls died there as well. Right now I have loaded up Trillian from the plugin drop down and made a fresh template. Seems to work....

 

Now also problems with my own template: Left a blank control page 4 in case I needed more controls before the FX sections. Now when I try assign controls to that page I they do not work, but If I assign the same controls to a new page or an existing page with already assigned controls it works.. I´m scratching my head ???

 

When you say "alter" some of the controls, what do you mean?

There shouldn't really be any issue with learning new controls or renaming anything. I've done it with a number of presets in Omnisphere, just not Trillian. I'll do a test and see what happens when I try and add some new controls to a preset. Unless it's something to do with the fact these were created on PC. I have no idea on that. Wouldn't have thought it would make a difference but could be wrong.

 

Are you on Maschine or Komplete Kontrol?

If it's maschine I have no idea. I know these load in Maschine software but since these were designed for Komplete Kontrol and I don't have Maschine I cannot really help there.

I know the whole Maschine vs KK software thing is a bit of a mess. Hopefully it's possible for NI to actually sort all that out and make things easier for us.

Amazing Work you have done . Wow !

I am wondering about one thing.
When i load ut up it Only loads the parameters for the chosen instrument in midi Channel 1 .
If i want to have the parameters for the channel 2 fx hoe does That Work . Or is This the method you landed on ? That you Only Can acess parameters off one instrument in one instance . So you need to load one omnisphere instance for each Sound ?

I was thinking it be Cool in live mode or stack mode to have acess to parameters for all 8 channels .

Yeah it's just not possible without 50 odd pages of parameters. The way it works is layer 1 is fully mapped to allow quick control of 98% of the content. For multis you would need to create a suitable map per multi. I rarely use multi layers rather multiple instances of omnisphere in live

 

Yes i see . It would just make things to complex . You are right. Multiple instances on same midi channel i guess is possible like you day then .

Currently I do not own keyscape but it's on my Wishlist. I'm just not sure I'd get the use out of it and spectrasonics is rarely ever on sale. If I do end up making the purchase I'll certainly post here.
