Why is there no Maschine or Battery kits? I see him using it with the Maschine controller, and he raved about Battery. A curious omission.

Because the product has been imagined as a Kontakt library.

Do I need Machine to use this? Can I just use Kontakt Player? Can I download this via Native access?
    Thanks

This is a Kontakt instrument that runs inside the free Kontakt Player, and yes, all downloads go through Native Access

    Hey Mick @ NI

What would be the best route for reporting some errors/bugs I get when using BV Drums... no showstoppers, but I get some script errors and there are some GUI things that need to be addressed...

    Thanks,

    Blindeddie

There are two UI/UX errors that are fixed in the next update:

    1. In Macro Assign popup, slider colors were mismatched. This is (unfortunately) visible even in the official overview video.

    2. If you click quite fast on the pads they could freeze up and not produce sound anymore when you click them.

If you have something else to report, by all means - do let me know!

    Hi EvilDragon
    Here is what I found...

#1. if you save the NKI with the Dead Room as the Preset/Snapshot (Green Box), then close and Reopen, the script error appears (red Box) in the info section.
    BV Dead Room Script error.png

#2, immediately switching to the Pattern Page, the Text is missing from the pattern pad at bottom right (red box).

Another thing I did notice and not sure if it is by design or not, if I change a snapshot on the GUI to another snapshot, the Header Snapshot does not change to the one selected, but if I select an new Snapshot in the Header, the GUI Snapshot name changes properly. (if you need further clarification, let me know.)

    Thanks,

Will check out the first thing you mentioned.

    EDIT: Confirmed, looking into it!

This is normal. Kontakt script doesn't have the power to physically load a different snapshot. So why the menu there on the GUI, you ask? It's not unlike the song selection in Strummed Acoustic and Electric Sunburst libraries - that was the idea here.

    Two questions:

    1. Is there an easy tutorial for triggering the Butch Vig Drums from Maschine?

    2. Are the individual drums/samples routable to separate outputs in Kontakt?

#1 I have been thinking about doing one...but it is basically just setting it up similarly to a normal Maschine group for Pad Mode... but out of the box, if you load up the drums, in a sound slot, just switch to KB mode and set the root note to C1 to trigger individual drums or C3 to trigger the patterns

#2 yes, on the Kit page, each pad/sample can be routed to it's own output (bottom right of the Sample section).

1# Would love it if you did. There are lots of folks looking for a quick and easy one.

2# On the kit page, it only gives you the option of routing to St.1 even if you've added additional outs/channels in Kontakt 6. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong.

I see 16 stereo outs, so not a bug, post a screenshot of your outputs, will compare to what I have.

You first need to define additional outputs in Kontakt's Output panel.

and after creating the outs, reload BV Drums. The available outs on the Kit panel do not automatically update to reflect the newly created outputs...until you reload the instrument.
