I was unable to duplicate this, but then again, you didn't provide sufficient info on exactly how you are using it, so I would need specifics of how you have it set up. For example, which preset are you using, did you drag patterns into the arranger or session views. In order to replicate, this info is important. So if you can provide the info, I will be glad to give it another go. You could also upload a copy of the Set and I can try loading that and see what might be going on.

 

No other Kontakt library dose this only BV, no crash report or error message it just stops playing and will only play again once you switch presets

 

It's a reported issue and I'm looking into it.

 

Hello, I'm new to NI. I just got Butch Vig Drums and I love it. I would like to use the different kits with my Yamaha DTX electronic kit, but I don't know how to map it. For example Slate Drums and Addictive Drums already have a pre-set for Yamaha, Roland, etc. How do I that on BVD? I've been reading the manual and searching the web but I haven't found information on how to do that. Thanks for your help!

 

You would need to use the Remap Keyboard multiscript that comes with Kontakt.

Press the KSP button in the top right corner, then load Factory>Transform>Remap Keyboard script preset. Should be fairly straightforward to remap the 16 individual pad keys BVD uses to whatever notes your e-drum brain is using.

 

in addition to what EvilDragon said, be aware that the kits in BVD are not all mapped the same... meaning that a note that triggers a Bass drum in one kit may trigger a snare in another. You would need to create re-maps for each kit depending on its layout. Just an FYI!

 

Will this allow me to use BVD with a track created by Logic's Drummer once I convert the Logic Drummer track to MIDI? I would basically have to go key by key making sure they lined up? Thank you.

Nope, you need to remap each key manually. There's no way Kontakt can know about LPD and how it's mapped.

 

Hello, i just recently started using this plugin. I am seeing the same issue others reported on my setup. BV loads loads fine in Kontact and Komplete Kontrol amd Maschine but seems to just stop playing after about 10 or so minutes. Almost like it's in demo mode or something.

The experience is as if a midi control signal has been sent to it and main volume has been set to zero. I tried it on just some bsaci dummy test projects. This does not happen on any other Play series or Kontact instruments.

My setup is: Windows 10, Cubase 10.5,
Interface: Komplete Audio 6

Unfortunately this seems to be a Kontakt issue of some sort. Kontakt team has been notified about it, but it's in their hands to prioritize the issue or not.

I have verified the code many times and it's all just fine. There's a gremlin somewhere in Kontakt that makes it do weird things like these.

I suppose a temporary workaround would be retriggering the pattern playback every once in a while, rather than letting it latch forever.

fwiw.. i am still on the one prior version of kontakt. not the latest patch level. the one just before it.

 

Doesn't matter, I think the issue was introduced in 6.4.x times, and since BVD requires certain Kontakt features from that version, not really much we can do other than indeed wait for a fix on Kontakt's side.

 

perhaps this is a good reason to lobby management to allow people to be able to roll back and downgrade to previous versions of application if so chose to.

 

Rolling back to 6.4.0 wouldn't help you because the issue also happens on that version, and Butch Vig Drums requires 6.4.0 at minimum.
