Well it’s not very difficult to figure out, pads for individual samples go from C1 to D#2. But since each kit is mapped differently you have to look at each pad in the interface to determine what sample is assigned for each kit. I wrote them down on a piece of paper...

Posting my drum map for Butch Vig Drums which is confirmed to work in Cubase 11 and 10.5, in case anyone finds useful. Let me know if you run into issues.

Hello, I encountered a strange glitch when trying to map drum samples to individual tracks.

When I try to map samples to individual tracks, everything works normal except for snare (G#1) and clap (A) and Crash1(C2) and Crash2 (C#2).(See screen shot)

If you try to map them, the second one somehow gets permanently linked to the first. (e.g. A is tied to G#1 and C#2 is tied to C2.) I tried multiple times and even broke down the workflow so I only map 4 samples at a time. I even tried adding two new outputs and named them something different. Those notes can't be delinked from preceding ones. (Unless I am missing something and these samples have to be stereo 2 track and not mono 1 track).

It is not clear what you're trying to show here, sorry. I cannot seem to reproduce that over here.

But also, a warning. I see you're using mono output channels. There is a known crash that can happen with mono outputs and if Replika effect is used. All these outputs should be stereo...

Thanks. Maybe its the mono outputs then. I will try again with using all stereo and see if the problem goes away. I was always under the impression use mono for everything except overhead or room mic emulations.

BVD is different, it's not a multi-mic sampled drumkit, it's heavily post-processed oneshot samples. They're all stereo.

Thanks. I tried it again with stereo. I didn't even bother trying to map anything but those notes. Same issue. For whatever reason, the behavior of positions A and C#2 do not map as expected in cubase. They just stick to and follow the preceding notes (G#1 and C2) and where they are mapped to.

Edit: I just figured it out. I think the problem is with the "Psych Red Swirl" drum preset itself. The problem does not happen when switching to other presets. Very odd.

Ah, I see what you mean now. Yeah, that's some weird behavior right there. Unsure why it happens, but for some reason the actual routing of the selected soundsource doesn't change for those two pads. A quick workaround is to select the pad with the clap (A1) then just quickly click prev then next soundsource arrows in the display:

Then it will work. Repeat the same for the cymbal on C#2.

I'm also having the BVD stopping playing after a certain time. I'm on Studio one 5. I drag and drop the pattern on to my track set a loop and it'll loop round for about a minute and a half and then suddenly goes silent. It appears to be registering the midi but no noise is coming out. I'm on Kontakt 6.6.1. I've never had any issues with any of the other NI Kits such as studio drummer.

Yeah, it's a known issue but quite elusive to catch. However a good temporary workaround should be just duplicating the MIDI note that triggers the pattern every few bars rather than having one super long one.
