whenever i try to load a loop or sample from a current track playing in deck A, an error message pops up stating: "Error loading sample from deck: current active deck has no track loaded." Weird thing is if I have a track playing in deck B and i trigger a cue on deck C, it'll load a loop or sample from deck B and not deck A. Deck D also corresponds with deck B, so for whatever reason it's like deck B is the only deck recognized for the remix decks in S4. . . help?

You need to define from which deck the remix deck will pull the sample from (that's something new), or you need to use the s4's copy mode.

Correct. You can tell traktor which deck a remix deck pulls it samples from. You have both of them set to deck B atm.

How/where can you configure which deck a remix deck pulls its tracks from? I can't seem to find it in the Preferences... is this done somewhere else?

This. I think your deck needs to be in advanced mode.

You need to double click on the remix deck header to cycle through the modes, including advanced mode. This is poorly described in the manual, so my suggestion is to double click on the grey area immediately above the track header (in this case the area immediately above the "New Remix Set" label.

My decks started looking out (by default) almost the same as the old Sample Decks.

... and each double click cycles through the following views. You'll notice that the second and third views below expose the "Deck A" deck selection option.
