I have the same question. Not in the manual. Not on any reviews. Please post if you find it.

    I think it's hardware only, the S4mk3.
    Not released yet.
And not added to midi commands.
I'm surprised it isn't being added to the S8 somehow.

    Im very curious !
Hope its a bit like in Maschine where you can record offbeat patterns instead of sticking to the step sequencer grid.
I would be extremely disappointed if its only available for s4 !

If it is using the sequencer that was added for mapping and native to the S8, D2, and F1, then there is swing that can be added to make it less robotic, the grid is pretty static when you add sounds but with swing and messing with the samples a bit a lot can be achieved with the sequencer.
I mapped it to a Midifighter Twister. Which took forever to do all 4 decks.

Djtechtools had a mode for the Twister that saved patterns when it was released(2years ago?) For that mode it was a sequencer and pattern recorder built in to the Twister. Not related to the later release of the official Traktor sequencer.

So I am guessing that since it wasn't added to Midi commands that it will be a pattern recorder that is in the hardware. S4 MK3 only.

And these pictures as well show the record button on the S4 which I hoped was the loop recorder, but makes more sense that it is a pattern recorder.

Are you able to say anything about this feature.
I wish they had released the owners pdf ahead of time for these controllers I usually go over those before buying anything.

I'm also wondering about how a step sequencer would even display or work on the S4?

Just saw a review on Djtechtools, the pattern recorder is software based (not controller based like I thought it would be).
It works kind of strange though, you hit the record button play a pattern and it loops it as a quantized loop. Simple I guess.

I looked through the Tp3 manual and nothing is mentioned about mapping commands for the pattern recorder, so pretty sure it is S4mk3 only so far.
