    Hi,

I just upgraded to Traktor Pro 2.5, and I'm not too familiar with the remix decks yet. I can't find any documentation about them, and the videos available only show how to use the remix decks with an F1 controller.

I've read in other posts that the remix decks provide all the functionality that the old sample decks used to provide.

I'm not sure I believe this.

For one, how can I trigger a sample in the remix deck, independently of other samples, using my mouse? When I click on one sample's "loop icon", for example, all of the samples in the top slots get triggered at once.

If I have 4 samples across the top of a remix deck, how can I trigger each sample independently using my mouse? (I don't want to trigger them all and then just mute/unmute the samples according to what I want to be heard. This doesn't allow me to stagger the trigger times for the different samples.)

one last try to get an answer on this... if I get no answer I guess it's confirmed that NI has reduced some of the functionality (without using a controller) with the new remix decks that replace the original sample decks.

    1. Drag your 4 samples into the 4 top slots of the Remix Deck
Be sure to have the full Advanced options open(pitch and gain knobs visible)

    2. Press one of the coloured loop icons corresponding to a sample, it will start playing.

    3. Press the loop icon to the right of Sync in the bottom right corner of the deck while the looped sample is playing.
The sample will then change to single-play mode.

    4. Repeat for all other samples, enjoy your sample clicking.

Thanks for the answer makar1. Nice to know that I can still get the same functionality with the remix decks that I had with the sample decks without having to use the F1 controller.

(And I can now play samples backwards with the remix decks to boot! :)

But to tell you the truth, something odd seems to be going on with my Traktor Pro 2.5. Before, when I hit a loop or one-shot icon of a sample to play it, all the samples loaded in the top row of my remix deck would play at the same time. Now, no matter what I do, I can't seem to reproduce this behavior. When I now press the loop or one-shot icon of a sample with my mouse, only that individual sample plays.

Don't really know what to say about that... would be nice to have both options just for the sake of added functionality/flexibility.

If you previously had all 4 samples enabled then pressed the big Play button to stop the deck, pressing one of the loop buttons will then set off the whole deck again so it might be that.

Glad you got it working how you'd like, originally anyway!
