Why are you in here? Go use an MP or MV if it works better for you. I personally don't care about the MP or MV. You have to page around A LOT more on those two machines that you have to on Maschine. There are far more modifiers on the MP than Maschine and here you are complaining about Maschine. Are you kidding me?

You will find that people will continue to be resistant to your posts now that they think you have an agenda. Frankly, you are almost at troll status at this point.

I thought I cleared this up already. But to entertain you...

I am a registered owner and user of NI products. This is a feature request thread that I believe I created about a function that would improve the way I work.

Don't care if the five people that visit the forums frequently are resistant to my suggestions...don't really care if you believe I have an agenda. I am not offended by the use of the word troll.

Now getting back to Maschine....you didn't read the entire thread..and why should you? It is filled with personal attacks because people are catching feelings about an electronic product. The thread was about how Maschine locks modifier buttons not how many it has compared to an MPC. If you know something about MPCs, you would know that Maschine's modifier buttons are similar to an MPC modes. They have almost the same number. However, the MPC modes are a little more extensive when comparing the same or similar functions of Maschine. If you don't need this extensive functions...then just do you and don't worry about these threads. If you want or need some of these functions or any other, create as many posts/threads a you see fit.

But the truth is....there is only one reason to hang out in a feature request forum. That is....you are not completely happy with its feature set and you want to see some improvements.

Or you're completely happy with NI's vision and execution thus far and want to make sure they continue to do so and therefore try to prevent them getting sidetracked by nonsensical feature/removal requests by trolls who believe that Maschine is a MPC clone.

The truth is... there are many things that the MPC doesn't have compared to Maschine.

I told you I would keep you busy because I have many requests.

This is the wrong thread to discuss what Machine has that an MPC doesn't. This is a feature request thread to add features that Maschine doesn't have..and there are many things it can't do thus the reason for this part of the forum and the several dozen requests.

...but since I made my point what I want/need regarding the Grid button...please feel free to tell us specifically about the "many things" Maschine has that an MPC doesn't.

LOL. The MPC cheerleader is still around here? I must admit, am quiet curious to know what Jahrome's mission is. It's going to be a long summer I guess(and that's a good thing). hahahaha

If I didn't own Maschine, I wouldn't be here. And yes, I am a fan of MPCs because they are the best sampling drum machines/MIDI sequencers that have ever been created. Since Maschine is based off an MPC...my mission is to have NI update the OS so we can get MPC specific features that I love:

    1. Timestrecth/pitchshifting
    2. Customizable metronome
    3. Arpeggio
    4. 24 bit recording
    5. Improved sample editor
    6. Mouseless/keyboard less control
    7. Improved sound shaping (envelopes, LFOs, etc)
    8. MIDI output improvement
    9. MIDI program change/bank select
    10. Drum Programs w/Multi-layering of pads via hardware
    11. Record mute and solo
    12. Scrolling playhead over sample

And the reason you got Maschine?:

"I have written an entire novel just by reading the manual about what Maschine lacks when compared to an MPC even within a software environment. However, I will save it for my review...coming soon."

"From all the threads and feedback around here...forum members what to know the skinny on Maschine and how it performs compared to an MPC. Since nobody is trying to do this, I have stepped up..spent $600 and will do it for the community. People want to know the truth and not a sales pitch."

The reason why I got Maschine:
    http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=108626&hilit=MPC+5000+unplugged

Now being a long time MPC user and forum member, we had way too much hype in that forum regarding Maschine. All the hype was just quick sound bytes and advertising coming directly from NI's website. I was originally waiting for Maschine's OS to mature or to wait and see if a Maschine 2 would be released. But the MPC Forum thread made me speed up my plans to get one. Now that I own Maschine and continue to use MPCs, I can give the pros and cons (if needed) regarding the best aspects of both. In the MPC Forum, I argue on behalf of the MPC being superior (which it is). Here in NI's feature request forum, I suggest areas where I feel Maschine needs to be improved upon.

Now that you have my intentions...can we get back to Maschine? If not, then why are you really here? (I already know the answer by the way) lol

Nice try. I've read all those threads in the MPC-forums that eventually got deleted because of MPC fanboys picking fights with Maschine users by calling anyone who was enthusiastic about Maschine "salesman" and "NI employees". People were trying to discuss Maschine. No one was "hyping" it with "sound bytes" or "advertising". You, on the other hand, were egging people on and turning it into a spec war. Unfortunately for you, that's not welcome here.

Yeah it is easy to make this claim when several of the threads got deleted. But there are two threads that remain. Both of them include "hype," "sound bytes," and "advertising" of Maschine with no clear specifics. If you actually read my posts, I respond everytime with specific examples and suggest others do the same...but they haven't. This is one reason why the other threads got off track and were deleted.

There is nothing wrong with being excited about a new product. I am a gear junkie and I do the same. But I don't let any company dictate to me what they think I need. As a consumer, I demand products. It is up to these companies to meet our expectations if they want our business. As I wrote many times across several forums, the idea of Maschine is something I have been waiting for. But Maschine currently misses the mark. Since it can me upgraded via software, I am here to give feedback to what I feel would make it better. Some things people agree with me and somethings people don't. But all the features I just wrote about have been identified as wants/needs in several threads here. If you have ever used an MPC, you would know that they are all MPC features just like a majority of what Maschine does now.
