Remove text from F1 buttons?

I use my F1 as a generic MIDI controller for Traktor and am wondering if there is a technique I can use to remove the labels/text from the buttons?

They seem to be raised a bit so I wonder if a little isopropyl or acetone might do the trick but don't want to risk damaging the unit!

I want this mostly to help beginners using my setup, I've had a few people complain that the stock text confuses them. o_O

Why not make an overlay? So you can also use the F1 with its propper tekst in the future.

I really do like the idea of an overlay, and for the text on the base housing of the model it's definitely viable.

Are you saying there are overlays that go ontop of the buttons too (like sync, quant, etc..)?

The standard F1 overlay covers the whole topside of the F1.
If you do a websearch for: "F1 overlay" or something similair you will find some (blank) overlays you can use.
Another option might be to design your own skin with the layout and text you want.

I've checked those out before, places like styleflip and 12inchskins, but none of them cover the buttons. If you've seen one, would you be willing to provide a link or reference the store that has them?

I guess no one will provide a cover for the buttons because you will no longer be able to see if the led is on or off.
The only way to have no tekst on the buttons will be to replace the current ones with blank buttons. You will need to find the blank ones though.

Replacing the buttons is certain a potential, though that seems a bit unlikely given that Native Instruments' component sourcing is probably not available to the public =)

For these reasons I return to my original question - has anyone had any luck removing the text on the labels with any sort of chemical solvent? I have had luck with this technique on other types of plastic and rubber but curious if anyone has tried on these specific types of buttons.
