Hi all, I recently viewed this great tutorial for MPC style tracking for Maschine, using the Reaper specific plugin ReaRoute. The tut is below:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJez94lanZU&feature=player_embedded

Basically for me, this is the perfect way of capturing a 'performance' recording and giving me a solid group of individual tracks to mix properly with in Reaper.

Problem is ReaRoute is PC only... Iv'e searched everywhere for some way to get around this but cannot find anything.

Any help would be great. There was a thread on here posted by SaintJoe with the tut, and someone posted a 'mac version' of the workflow, but the Youtube video is DEAD so that ones out.

    Thanks alot :)

You can use Soundflower, yes. But you should be able to just use it as a plugin and set up tracks in Reaper to record.

Yes, I've suggested using as a plugin before, but many don't like using Maschine as a plugin, they want total control over the transport. Example, some like to do a "stutter" with the transport at the start or at some point in the track, not as simple to do when using as a plugin.

Yeah and I feel that completely. I don't really make beats too often with Maschine as a plugin, unless I'm trying out some new stuff or maybe using DAW instruments.

That being said, soundflower does work pretty well, you just have to refresh it periodically when the delay gets up there...here you go OP.

JackOSX, imo, works better than SoundFlower, its not as straightforward to use, but latency is much better, imo and I've never had an issue with it getting out of sync. I've always found soundflower to be way too buggy for me to trust it.

i have to agree with you about Soundflower it is really buggy. it has actually stopped working altogether on my Macbook.

there are one or two tutorials about routing Traktor into Ableton Live. you might be able to transfer the ideas to your system and comcept.

Good feedback fellas, I don't use a mac so didn't know soundflower was buggy, everyone usually suggests it. Nice to know there are alternatives.

Thanks alot everybody for the suggestions. I actually stumbled on Jack last night and had some success but as 4am came round I had to think about sleep haha.

I will go through all these ideas soon and report back!

    Thanks again,
