I am running Windows 10 64 bit on my PC.

I can not activate my newly installed Vir2 BASiS in my Kontakt 5 Player. When I press the "Activate" button, I get the message:
"Basis can not be activated. Please run the original installer of the library". I do not know what this means - Do I uninstall Basis and try again?...And from what I read online this will not help anyway.

The BASiS instructions tell me to run the "NI Service Center" app, which is supposed to be located at C:/Program Files/, but I do not see it anywhere. Also, I went to the NI support site, found downloads for NI Service Center, but none are compatible with Windows 10! Only up to Win8.

I have a NI account, but I do not see anything there that looks like it would help.

A few days before, I was able to activate the "Kontakt Factory Selection" library that I got just after installing the Kontakt 5 Player, so I know that it is possible to activate on my system.

    Suggestions very welcome! Thanks-Bob

Thanks for the quick reply, Solger.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Kontakt 5 Player after activating Kontakt Factory Selection. I wonder if that had anything to do with my problem. Anyway, if I re-download Service Center from the NI site, which version should I get? The one that says 2.6.0 "Windows 7 and 8"? Sorry if my questions seems obtuse, but I don't like to assume anything!

    Yes, that's the one.

    Thanks for the reply.

However, just now I notice that that 2.6.0 is just an UPDATE, not the full install. Do I need to download and install the XP version first, install that, and then the Windows 7,8 update after that? I'm Confused.
    Thanks-Bob

Although it says 'update' in the download section, it should be a full installer version.
So downloading the 2.6.0 .zip-file and then running this installer should work.

In addition, here's some general info about Service Center:
