Are we likely to get a response from NI on the many issues with Traktor 2.5?

And have fixes usually been released quite quickly?

    How does it generally work?

You joined the forum in 2007. By now you should know how NI treats its customers.

actually the important question is...have you submitted bug reports to NI? or do you mean when will they respond to people in the forum?

Having released such a bug ridden application, it seems a bizarre that NI customers are expected to notify support of each bug.

NI needs to take responsibility and fix this mess ASAP. Customers shouldn't have to do anything to make it happen.

you may think NI has mind reading powers but they don't...they need to know about the bugs to fix them...which is the point of submitting bug reports

NI has responsibility fixing the bugs that are reported...but if everyone starts thinking the way you do...bugs will never get reported

err, right ... they haven't noticed the bugs in beta / final testing ... haven't noticed forums full of posts reporting bugs? Of course .... how could they know without mind reading powers. Stupid me.

As if they don't already know. We should all write and tell them personally? At what point do NI actually step in and take responsibility for the mess ... and minimize inconvenience caused to hundreds of their customers? Too much to ask obviously ...

I agree. But keep in mind this forum and users that post. Or even users that call or write is a small handful compared to those who report nothing.

If NI really wanted to be helpful. Those Tech & Beta testers should have a post area that shows their system specs and full setups. That would be quite helpful.

As well when they post a promo video show the specs and even the pc or mac the person is using.

Basically if they (the beta team, the promo vidz, the whole support group, and all that seem to be quite satisfied with the results) are going to be loud and proud. Give all us the chance to be just like you.

I guess the one drawback is it may come down to only a couple of operating systems and setups that actually work. Not the Heap of who knows what that the basic user or all you can afford has at their disposal.

So question is what did they all use?

    a)
this is a user forum, not the NI support, nor will you find NI reps here (usually). however, we moderators give bundled feedback to NI every once in a while.

    b)
    many issues?
in my overview there were only a few things to report, not one of it being a serious issue. serious = hinders you working with the software.

have a look at the update thread to find out more about future releases and the common time between 2 releases.

    i'd say, it's vice versa...

you mean, like my 4 yrs old underpowered, not officially supported laptop that runs smooth like butter?

Why is everyone so super defensive on this forum! although i rarely post - I do read and use this forum regularly.....

I have been with Traktor since the early days and it seems to have become less and less stable with more and more features, i think the balance needs to be addressed now....

thanks for the responses.......This is the first time I have had issues with an upgrade - and it seems plenty others have as well......I hope in this instance they are sorted quickly.

I have been checking daily for the and signs of fixes released - was just wondering how long it might take

    Hello,

Imo, everyone is super defensive because there are too much posted questions that already have been answered. This is particulary right since few days. And also, there are too many threads that have been opened just in order to whimper or vociferate. This leads to a dilution of the important information into a kind of hubbub which is not very efficient when somebody search an information (e.g. should I install 2.5 or wait next update? :p)

    Just an opinion.
    Peace!
    RomTheG.

actually, it's the opposite. but i agree, if you read the forums, especially after an upgrade, it seems to be like this. but absolute figures tell a different story.

I guess that is what I mean I would like to know what the users that get it all working are using.
If your 4yr olds lappy runs fine that is great(I mean that too) I have been looking at some pricey laptops and keeep hearing even those have issues. I know this is not just a NI issue. I have looked around and audio is just a tricky thing for computers in general.
And of course no one has a perfect answer for all.

I just thought maybe if the test group released what worked so well for them as well as support. I also try to always see what someone is using in a video but rarely can tell.

I know mac does well in general. And my windows 4gig is ok but tweaked alot. i will most likely uprgade in the next couple of years so I would like the best.

the problem is that its hard to tell what all a regular user would load on their computer...apps interact in strange ways with each other...so its not just a hardware thing...i have used windows when i was a kid & i know that its more of a problem there...but even on mac...i have had a couple of instances where a third party app started creating problems for one of the mac os apps...

so for example if people use brand new out of the box macs installed with no other third party software other than traktor....the specs won't help people too much because nobody uses a computer for only one software...and its not possible to know who loads what on their system...

this is why forums & bug reporting are important...because of this we know that the beatmarker bug is not system specific...and that some of the others are...
    ---
actually the answer to a lot of stuff is in your post....people rarely come to the forum unless they are having trouble...which is why you find a ton of bug reports & very few people who will actually come to say that the software is working fine for them or they haven't discovered/noticed any bugs

so to somebody who comes to the forum only once in a while...or for the first time...they will see a page full of almost nothing but people crying about bugs :)

Ooops My new F1 was plugged into the wrong usb hub. My latency is much better. Also had windows update running and bluetooth service was active(haha I dont even have bluetooth).
I still would like a bit less stress from Traktor though. It definately is a hog for cpu.

If you read what I say - you will see that I rarely POST but I visit the forum regularly.

And I have never seen anything like the list of issues we are seeing now for a software release.

It might be helpful for Beta test results to be available.

i can't say anything about beta test results but all i know is that from all the posts i have read...the "list" of issues seems pretty short...the "list" of complaints is what would be really long...the only thing this shows is that a lot of people are now using traktor & finding bugs...most of the reported bugs however seem to be the same & only a few of them are serious...like the beatmarker bug for example

For example the CD timecode issues are serious issues for "traditional" DJs using Traktor Scratch.. people keep saying the last time it was working properly in version 2.0.3 and has been broken since, including the new 2.5.0:

    "Traktor 2.5 and CDJ1000's? - CD timecode doesn't work":
    http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=168830

"CD timecode: hitting CUE on Pioneer CDJ makes the needle point on traktor bounce all over the place":
    http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=168257

"Traktor 2.5 and still timecode issue..":

"CD timecode issue / Traktor 2.5.0":

Also there's the bug where absolute/relative mode changes happen at random.. I'd call that serious aswell:

"Absolute and relative mode random switch":
