Can any moderator comment on if NI are working on Traktor to work with retina Macbook pro?

I'm no computer software coder, but I can't think it being too hard, surely they would just double to resolution but fit into original dimensions.

I doubt it's that easy more likely they have to redo all their graphics and since a lot of the parts of Native Intruments products use the same code it will be needed to be redone across all products.

    Not a small task.

Maybe Traktor 3 Revenge of the Sith

    true dat.

plus (i know mac users often dont see this) - the world doesnt belong apple. having to cope with stuff that apple suddenly sets as standard, ignoring specifications but forcing the rest of the world to follow is annoying enough (<= personal opinion).

    lol. maybe :)

Does Traktor not work on Macbooks with retina displays?

Traktor works, but it isn't optimized for the Retina display. This means graphics and text aren't as sharp as they could be and therefore they look blurry.

well i asked them and they said that they are not allowed to speak about upcoming stuff so i guess we have to wait for something official OR the update itself.

"Redo all their graphics" ? All they have to do is replace the images with higher resolution ones.

The code for a knob for example, instructs the program to extract the image from a certain folder to show for the UI, all you have to do is replace that image with a higher resolution one. To make those images, you just have to set the same pixel dimensions but double the dots-per-pixel density.

If Apple is able to do this with their whole operating system, and all Apple apps, iPhoto, iMovie, iTunes etc then NI is more than capable.

Like it or not, high Dpi technology is going to make its way into all computers at some point, its just Apple are the first to use it in this way.

High def just keeps getting deffer.
I like hi def. But I wonder can you change the res to accomadate Traktor? I mean if Apple locked itself into this higher than though defness. I dont get it? Why? In windows the applications usually can be adjusted to fit and work.

    Even my Playstation does this.

But yeah the resolution is worth drooling over on those retinas!

    Hi guys,

Attached is a zip file with 3 different screen shots, the 3 shots are in 1440x900, 1680x1050 and 1920x1200 these are the top three choices of screen resolution in display preferences.

yea….im pretty sure its more about pixel density than just screen resolution…that resolution on a 15" screen definitely packs more ppi

I'm running native at 2560x1440 on the iMac & it looks fine…

not sure what the 1920x1200 limitation is though…

thats the native resolution my macbook pro runs at

I'm sure slowly everyone will be switching to higher standards…so far the apple retina macs are the only ones that have such a high resolution… till a few years ago no laptop even had HD capable monitors…now pretty much all do :) gotta love apple for raising the bar every time ;)
