Has anyone spent much time with Retro Machines with Machine or Machine Mikro? I really like the synth sounds but was curious how easily they played together. Thanks!

work fine - sound great - easy editing - great results - reasonably versatile - a good buy if you like that sort of thing - i do, i did and am happy with it personally.

there are people that will slag it off for not having enough control over envelopes etc etc but that's missing the point by miles - they are reproductions using a simple interface to control that doesn't change regardless of the instrument, this leaves you very comfortable regardless of the choice of sound - it has some nice quirky things going on that produce unexpected and nice results - and the basic arpeggiator is simply class, better than a lot of the modern and over complicated versions found in power synths if you ask me

That kinda turned me off at first too but then I started playing around with it more and more I realized that it is really nice. The interface gives you basic controls over envelope, lfo, chorus, eq, sample start time, reverb, delay, ect. and that's fine for fast editing but the real power comes when you click on the wrench (toolbox) icon and then you can edit and modulate the envelopes and filters exactly the way you want. You can add effects or add sound groups and more. I thinks most people miss the point of Retro Machines, it should be thought of as a full fledged synth. The only difference is that Retro Machine's oscillator is powered by samples.
**Each sample set is basically the same as a oscillator waveform in a conventional synth***

    NI rules HANDS DOWN!

An outstanding addition to NI's arsenal as well as an awesome alternative to Arturia's overpriced V collection...Here we have 16 synth's compared to 7 synth's in the Arturia collection. NI is the best sound software on the market hands down!

no complaints, I'm glad to have it, just dumbfounded about what you said about arturia
because they make excellent emulations. and I would hazzard to say that the v-collection smokes retro machines.

Quick question, how are you guys using Retro machines in Maschine? Is it showing up under the instrument heading for you, or do I have to load Kore as a Module?

its a kontakt instrument not Kore,

you have to load kontakt inside Maschine then select retro machines as the instrument in kontakt. easy as that

retro machines has this character that's all it's own, I like it for that reason, it was one of the reasons why I decided to get komplete 8.

I love it, and I agree that it's full fledged. Anyway - if you don't like the level of control available, open up the advanced view, or whatever it's called and edit the sampler. In all the "kontakt player" user land programs, people forget that there is this whole instrument that they are running their instruments within. Speaking of - do I have to email NI to get another copy of my DL link? I seem to have lost mine - and a whole 300 gig of data to go with it.

    OUCH!

GOTO service centre for DL, it should be available from there if you open up the previously downloaded section, your NI account found in control panel on this forum, that will give you all the serials also

if i had the full Kontakt i would edit the **** out of Retro machines, only got the player version though :-(

I tried that, but am not seeing it for some reason - maybe I'm just not looking in the right place? I have the Komplete 8 box in my hand, and I used to love the software, so I know I should have it, I remember that I had to dl it...so I'm wondering what's wrong.

nah i just checked mine, you are right - if they have been downloaded there is no link - that is always sent to email isnt it - your registration numbers are definitely there though - they are in the overview section, you click the details drop down selector and it provides the serials - you might want to run a search on your email account for "native" and see if it throws up the download link, i bet its expired now though so perhaps support via service centre or tech support on here is a good way?
