I would love to see Reaktor support Rewire
as it would be great to have the choice..It would be
a perfect path to Ableton Live.

    Almost Live

You CAN use reaktor in Ableton Live (unfortuately not thru rewire) but as a VST plugin effect. What I do is manually start a sequence in reaktor by hand by using a 'run' button on my main song sequencer. Its a little tricky, but it works...This way you can mix the Live output and your reaktor stuff and just feed it out to the master track in Live again.

Maybe this is too much to ask

I sometimes wonder if NI could ever offfer Rewire support, as it may break their Ego as it was created from Proppelerhead Software,

    Re: Almost Live

cool, I tried that too and it works,

what about if reactor detects the speed of ableton, by it's audio in,
which could be used to measure the timing parameters of live, for example if you take an easy hihat pattern ... ?

what about bilding such a thing together ?

Don`t know Ableton Live but usually you
can detect the speed (BPM) of the Host by
    using the Tempo Info Module.

    Hi!
In Live, your tempo window's at the top.Since Live isn't MIDI oriented per se,you might have to use Hubi's Loopback or MIDIYOKE to send tempo information to Reaktor(I use Reaktor as a DXi and not as a VST,so I really don't know). You can set this up in Live's preferences under MIDI/sync.
    Hope this helps,

I read an email discussion 18 month ago that NI would never support
Rewire in Reaktor... I hope they will change their mind, it's seems
like a good way of interfacing two applications... VST is not
    the ultimate API...

Why should they support a closed system by a company that doesn't want anyone else to implement their system? VST works fine, and IMHO is 100's of times better than Rewire...

Propellerhead behave very strange when it comes to using Rewire or other licenses in your application.
It took me three(!) month to get a reply on my demand for the SDK only. After that I had asked if they'd accept my application being distributed under the GPL communication suddenly stopped. None of my mailing would wake them up again.

To me they seem to be a very polite, but narrow minded bunch of... I can't think of a respectful name for that behaviour.

I don't know if I did come across some plans they had in mind with ableton LIVE and Reason, because I wanted to build a Rewire-Slave capable of hosting Reaktor for LIVE.

So, I for myself wouldn't blame NI, if they're not making plans for Rewire. I heard that ableton are working on VSTi, but defenitly not for the upcoming 2.0. My workaround is to hard-route Reaktor into LIVE, works fine if you don't need tempo-control.
