No no...not the 4 FX units is the problem....the problem will be the 4 FX Buttons in the Decks...
at the moment u can enable FX Unit 3 and 4 not directly ;-)

If u want to play with 4 decks or use 4 FX Units with direct handling....buy two of them...thats clear ;-)

 

What kind of bugs do you experience then? I personally haven't had any problems at all.
And I guess that I put more effort in making my configuration as suitable as possible for me and my workflow in Traktor, because I don't need some kind of visual feedback to see or know what I'm doing while playing (if it's at home or in the club).

But hey, what am I talking about? It isn't my money which is spent on this new device.

 

for example the led-buttons at the bottom, that are not controllable. or the rotary knobs that sometimes send the value of the button that has been pressed before, or if you turn a rotary one step ahead it sometimes sends 2 midi-commands sometimes one - as it should - and sometimes none.

another advantage the X1 brings me: i want to have all 8 cuepoints accessible with just one button (without any shift-buttons) and this is only possible for the focused deck on the 1D, because there are not enough buttons. and this is too dangerous, 'cause it can easily happen that you jump to the cue on the wrong deck...

 

Hm, but you're playing with Traktor Pro, I guess? In that case I can understand that you're more into the X1. I'm playing with TSP, so the midi-controls are more like an add-on for me. For the rest I'm playing with vinyl and the cue-points are just markers for me.

About the led's, I don't see it as a real problem actually. If you're focused enough when playing, you know which functions you're using and which not.
And I never had any problems with the rotaries, but I'm only using the Traktor-map, not the one for ableton.

The Hotcue Buttons of the X1 are on the secondary level ;-) Have a look to the layout pictures ;-) And also there is a Shift button on the x1...that the cause why i´m angry.

If TPro or TSP it makes no difference! I Play with TSP, but more in a kind like Tpro...no TC Controll, only with controller....

 

@RoyHabets Nope, I'm playing with TSP. I need a controller only for effects, cuepoints / stored loops and on-the-fly looping.
I'm also using the Traktor-map. And I am not alone with these problems. I don't know much about the english part of this forum, but in the German part the issues i mentioned are discussed very often...

@DJ_Maggi yes, they are, but the button to switch is a toggle, that indicates his status with the led-backlight and not a button you have to keep pressed. again, it's the visual feedback i miss on the 1D

 

That's the point I was trying to make. TP is just playing with controllers and without timecode (that's TSP for me). So it sure makes a great difference.

And mpb; that's the same type of usage of a controller like I do. And the 1D just does what I need and expect from it.

 

@RoyHabets it's good to hear it works for you, unfortunately it does not for me so i am looking forward to trying the X1

 

i'm digging the X1 but why the hell do they tease us with the announcement 3 months a head of time? I now have a coutdown till when I can stop using my NanoPAD!
