Every day that I boot up... my HD Vdeck (audio drivers), on my built in sound card, always create some failure and i have to uninstall and reinstall. and then I can get my sound back.

But recently, aka last night, i went and tried to get the newest update possible for this VDeck (VIA Audio device) and upon doing so... I get normalized audio from my music players and youtube/webbrowsing..... but NOT from my maschine.

I get audio from my machine but it is squelchy/scratchy/distorted. This applies to all sounds. It is almost as if a FX filter has been applied to everything coming out of the machine. Many reboots later and nothing is different. My projects that sounded normal every time ive brought them up... now have this quasi-FX on it. Im guessing its just glorious incompatibility with my audio device + audio drivers + magnificent Win 7.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Or can you offer possible resolutions? I believe the sound issue is isolated into the maschine, and like I said previous work that was normal sounding is now affected as well. Hopefully someone knows what to do... or ill be buying a new soundcard with more Win 7 friendly/compatible drivers so I dont shoot someone lol.

    Preesh on any help.

Ew... I tried your advice but the prgm didnt quite install properly. and i didnt get much further into it because it was a patch and doesnt address the true issue: the VIA software and drivers arent updated for win7. so i went out and bought a $16 sound card with 5.1 and is win 7 compatible with current updates. no problems. all friggin smiles here :)

    basically.... built-in soundcards <

    Hey Marlow,

Ya man, built-in soundcards are CRAP. I ran into similar issues on my HP laptop. Luckily the Asio4All drivers is allowing me to work with no sound issues, but I plan on getting a better interface for my portible(laptop) rig soon. Good luck man. I'm new to Maschine as well, and will be popping in these forums more often. See you around!

yeah i built this desktop PC myself and I got such bang for my buck when i built it... that i skimped on the little things like video and sound cards. but now that im putting the computer to use the built-in crap definitely reared its ugly head. nothing $16 wouldnt fix thankfully. The Asio i didnt give much effort into applying but im glad it worked out for you. Having a laptop really handcuffs your ability to swap things out. But yeah ill be seein ya
