My rig kontrol 2 just died, and now I see they've discontinued the entire controller line. What can be used in its place?

I never used the foot controller very much. I liked it for the built-in audio that is better than the integrated stuff on my pc, plus all the input/output jacks and physical volume knobs, etc. Do you have any recommendations for some kind of unit with decent onboard sound and appropriate input/output and midi ports, etc? I don't care if there is a foot controller or not. Thanks for the info!

I'd say that any Audio Interface with a Hi-Z Input (for connecting guitars) and enough in/outputs for your workflow will most likely do the job.

In general, I'd recommend to check out some music stores or webshops to narrow down possible options depending on your needs and budget.
Just as example: here's a search result for USB Audio Interfaces with Hi-Z Input and MIDI-I/O: https://www.thomannmusic.com/usb_au...38=true&feature-14243=true&filter=true&oa=pra
