Hi guys, I recently got my Rig Kontrol for Guitar Rig but because I also own a keyboard and use Kontakt, I'm wondering if I could use the Rig Kontrol as a MIDI controller for Kontakt.
Is it possible? how is it done?

    Thanks,
    Basel

Rig Control sends CCs as far as I know, so you could use it via Kontakt's MIDI learn on any MIDI learnable parameter.

I guess there aren't many people who use Rig Control with Kontakt...

I personally don't have it, but I can vouch that MIDI learn in Kontakt indeed does work with my MIDI controller (and just about any other controller that sends out CCs).

I think I'll try contacting NI directly then for some detailed instructions... thanks EvilDragon :)

    Hi metalx,

I don't have the RigKontrol myself, but if you haven't already, maybe open NI's controller editor to check how the MIDI-controls on the RigKontrol are set up. (if they are set to CC-values, for example).

I cannot see it from your screenshots, but you might also check if you have the correct (incoming- ) midi-channel set up in the instrument-header.

Wow, that's the thing that was bothering me!
The controller wasn't showing "signs of life" when I open Kontakt, I mean that the lights and the display were off, unlike when I run Guitar Rig. So the MIDI In indicator in Kontakt wouldn't flash if I press a button or move the expression pedal.

I just did what you told me, opened the controller's editor and the display is now on showing "con" for "connected" and if I press any button, the MIDI In indicator in Kontakt flashes! it worked!

seems like I'll need to open the controller's editor every time I open kontakt to remind the rig kontrol to turn its midi on.
    Thanks solger!
