    OK,

So, I have accepted all of Maschines limitations in its current state. I work with Cubase 5. Now, all I want to be able to do is to route the 8 stereo channels of Maschine into cubase and record onto 8 stereo tracks. I understand how to record ONE stereo track, no probs. Create group channel, set input on new track to group, badda bing, badda boom

However, when I assign my different groups to different outputs in maschine (ext 1,2,3 etc) and go into Cubase, none of those inputs are avaiable to me in Cubase. I had no problem doing this in Ableton Live, but I dont want to use live as Im a Cubase boy.

So, is this a question of Cubase not being able to see the ext outputs of maschine (although I think it can see ext 01 for some reason?) I am pretty flexible in my studio and I appreciate the need for workarounds but if I cant see the inputs in Cubase anywhere I cant multitrack into Cubase...its as simple as that.

Anyone using Maschine and Cubase, anyone routing audio directly into multiple channels? How are ye doing it, I may well have missed something. Yes, Ive read all the manuals, I like manuals.

I am aware that I can drag and drop audio files from Maschine now, and thats great and all, but its not the workflow Im looking for. I want to be able to paint in arrangements in realtime, like one does in Ableton I guess. Its how I used to work with my MPC. If I cant do this I´m going to have to buy another MPC untill at least the MIDI out is functioning in a non head wrecking way.

Its been said a million times round here...this product has the potential to kill everything else...but no MIDI out and now no multi channel audio out in cubase....well...its just not cricket!

thanks in advance CUbase users and knowledeable Maschine headz.

    Mike

    Hey Mike,

I'm not to familiar with Cubase as I use Logic and Protools, but are there different plugin options in your plugin drop down menus? For sake of argument, mono, stereo, or multi channel. I know in ProTools or Logic you have to chose a multi channel version of your plugin if you want to use its multiple outputs.

You already mentioned "no multi channel out" so I'm assuming you've already tried this. If not, give it a go, and let me know if this helped at all.

    Thanks for your reply MSS!:)

Ok, so that would be the problem then, I dont see a multi channel plugin option, (like I have with Kontact for example) Hmm..

In the parent folder there are only 2 dll. files Maschine and Maschine Fx. Im using the beta.

Mind you, with Ableton Live (using the same dll.s) I can see all the inputs.

Can anyone tell me if they have got a multichannel plug in option in Cubase?

    Thanks again

    Mike

Well I checked the plug in information in Cubase and indeed the maschine dll. shows up as being a device with 8 stereo ins. However, no sign of those ins making themselves available within the software.

Anyone at all using Cubase and Maschine with multiple channels? I believe this is a bug, but theres a chance Ive missed something:eek:

OK, I found it. You have to open the vst instrument rack (f11) and click a little icon beside the maschine slot that gives you a drop down menu where you can enable all audio outputs of maschine....
    phew
