Been watching his demo vids and I really like the way he has his two 1Ds setup. I can see how he has done a lot of the mapping but as the vids are pretty basic it doesn't show how he has setup some other important features.

Has anyone got a link to a tsi or even just a diagram showing how he has setup most of his functions?

The chances are I would change most of it anyway :D but I'm just curious as to how he has done it.

    Cheers

Do it yourself and there have been tons of threads asking this, it is not publicly available. I've seen the videos he has of it with Traktor 3 and honestly thought his mapping there was stupid from what the video showed, everyone has their own style.

I'm working on a similar one

Last night I got started on doing a hawtin-esque mapping. However, not to be as blunt as the previous poster, what I found is that he has the the knobs at the top of the 1D controlling loop length abd the buttons at the bottom to activate. this did notmake much sense to me. The buttons at the top can also push, so it would be natural to use them for (de)activating the loops.

I have mapped the faders to both turn on 1 chained efx bank per deck and adjust the dry/wet for the bank. I use the 2 knobs above the faders for controlling the first 2 of the selected selected efx in the bank. Though for the 3rd efx in the bank I have had to resort to using a modifier, which is okay in theory but at the moment its not working right as it moves both efx 2 and 3.

In the video it does not show what the jog wheel has been encoded for so I have mapped it for track selection and used the 4 jog switches for deck load a, b, c, d. Whereas Richie uses the light up buttons on another 1d to selct thedeck focus and then loads with the rotary next to jog, which is not that convenient - needing doing two 1d's for a start when you don't need to plus its seprating track selection across two contollersso your a bit over the place.

At the moment I havent touched mapping the small 12 buttons nor the lighted buttons at the bottom. So that's my next job, for another day, any suggestions welcome. When I finish I'm quite happy to share my tsi. Tho to be honest learning how to map is quite interesting as it really does open up some creative ideas that you might not otherwise think of.

Yep, makes no sense, it seemed like he had very little controlled with the 1Ds and had half of one just for ableton... His setup just seems foolish to me, while he is a big name and good at what he does, he uses the laptop a lot which I prefer to stay away from as much as possible, it doesn't mean he has an amazing .tsi, in fact far from it.

Seeing his lame 1/2D map, I don't know how I feel about the NI Traktor controllers coming out if he is behind their design process.

Some good points made there. What have you mapped as your play and cue buttons? Or are you using timecode for this?

Well that's the next part it could be either the row of small buttons or the light up ones. I'm thinking of using the cue play mode for it too. But, yeah at the moment I'm using timecode for transport, but having a back up with buttons is appealing.
