    I am expeirencing dropouts when trying to use Rig Kontrol2 as my main soundcard recording with Sonar 5 Pro. It will record fine for a little while then kick out. I am wondering if this is a Rig Kontrol issue or if my Win XP is weird. (running Pentium 3.0 ghz dual core ,2 gigs ram.

    Is Rig Kontrol not able to be used as a main soundcard? I have not tried to record with any other soundcard and I don't want to spend any more money than I have to.

    You should be able to. Try these things and see if they work for you;

    1) First and foremost, have power management to the hubs disabled if you don't already. I put a sticky in the KORE forum about the procedure.
    2) the latest RK driver can be flaky using it with a 16 bit sample resolution. Try 24 bits and see if that works.
    3) If you're using the WDM drivers, try the ASIO drivers instead.

    I use KORE (essentially the same driver as RK) as my main soundcard for about 95% of my apps without issues. The one issue in my case IS Sonar, but that's because I'm still using 2.2. That was the first version to support ASIO, and while ASIO's usable, WDM's a much better fit with it. My old Terratec has much better WDM drivers, so I use that with Sonar.
