Quick question for you Xone 1D owners out there, since there are no local places to play with one that I know of.

How do the rotary encoders feel compared to the pots? Do they have distinct detents...or are they smooth like pots? How far do you have to turn them before it registers as a turn? Very little or a significant amount?

I want to use them for my effects, and I want to make sure they're the kind of encoders that emulate pots, and not the kind of encoders that's meant to like, select different menu options. Does that make sense?

They have little "clicks" in them if that makes sense. Each "click" represents an increment or decrement.

You have to set two MIDI mappings up per rotary, one for increment and one for decrement.

I used their "push" feature to enable the effects parameters, and the rotary piece to select effects.

IMO they aren't really suited to setting the effects levels themselves.

    Thanks! That's very helpful.

Are the clicks about as far apart as the lines going around the encoder on the faceplate?

Oh no, they are pretty fine.
