Does Maschine not already do something like this already? I can stack different samples onto a pad and depending on how hard I hit the pad depends on the sample that is triggered. If you have say several snares all in around the same velocity doing slightly different things and add a bit of compression so it levels the audio you'll get something close to what you want.

    or am I missing something?

You can get similar effects by doing what you say but it's not quite the same flexibility as having true round robin capability.
Think of it as adding samples sideways as well as up and down.
For example with a snare you could have several different hits that are all triggered by the velocity range 74-93 but they take it in turns.

However, for most intents and purposes, what you're doing works too. :)

yeah I downloaded the Addictive Drums demo and that does what you say and for live sounding drums I haven't heard anything better. I guess I probably dont need it for electronic stuff...or maybe I do? slightly different compression rates might liven up electronic drums. hmmm I will have to think about this....

+1 for round robins then :)

Guru & Geist has this too, BTW. Maschine is one of the only ones that don't have it.

Complaining in a request features forum without arguments.. this is really a waste of time and energy...

Please, let us ask and demand what we need to make our music, and go and post a feature request you need.

    Thank you....

    follow-up, Round Robin question - Battery 3

    Hi to all,

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I promise to keep it short. Does anyone know if Battery 3 has a round-robin setting (or settings) that may be automatically applied to percussion samples (other than in the B3 library) that are imported into the battery kits?

I ask because, now I am using a zendrum, and when I travel, I would like to bring all of my hand percussion and cymbals/gong/bell sounds with me in the form of samples. So I am in the process of painstakingly sampling all of my acoustic perc. instruments, which I will use the zendrum and Battery 3 to play back live. A round robin algorithm of some sort applied to my shaker and bell samples would make performance much more realistic.

I guess the true nature of my question is: can I sample a rattle just ONCE and expect that Battery will algorithmically alter that sample in successive hits (if I select it to do so) or do I have to sample (and alternate between) 10 different rattle samples?

It's a bit mind-boggling ... I'm not a sample designer but I need to get this to happen.

    Thanks and best wishes,

    Chris
