    Hey,

Been a while since I've used my S-49 and when I open up GarageBand, I get this message (see screenshot).
This comes up every time I open GarageBand. Any idea what the deal is?
    Thanks!

MacBook Pro 15-inch with Retina display (Late 2013), 2.3 GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, 16GB SDRAM, 512GB SSD, macOS Sierra.
Latest versions of GarageBand and Komplete Kontrol. S-49 Firmware is up to date as well.

Yes, I'm aware of this but shouldn't this message only show up once and not every time I open GarabeBand?

That is correct. If you do not want to use your keyboard as a control surface, please tick the 'Don't install automatically' box and press Don't Connect. You should no longer be presented with this dialogue box.

I want to use the keyboard as the control surface. The issue is that I'm presented with this message every time I launch GarageBand. So again, what's the deal???

Forget I asked... I had no idea the question would be so difficult!

    Hi @Izzi

Did you try as Adil suggested:
-Tick the box: Don't install automatically
-Press: Connect/Don't connect (whichever option you want)

This should save your settings and make sure you don't get prompted for this when you open Garageband again.

If this doesn't work it seems like Garageband is not saving your preference for some reason, in that case it's best you reach out to Support so they can assist you further.
To do so, please log in on our website, and go here: https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

You guys serious? Too many gamers and not enough musicians around here! ;)
If I do that then the keyboard doesn't work!

When this connect message came up in Logic Pro X, I clicked 'Connect' once and that was it. Never came up again when opening Logic.

And I did contact support and they were useless. They sent me a link on how to set up KK in GarageBand and I already knew how to do that.

The problem (not a big one) and question is... Why do I have to 'Connect' every time and why isn't this setting being remembered in GB?

Like I said, ******* forget about it.

    Hello,
After some further investigation, I can confirm that GarageBand will always ask to connect on every Application Start as the selection is not recorded. As you've mentioned, this is not the case with Logic Pro X, which will maintain the connection after Application End. This behaviour is governed by Apple's implementation.
    Best, Adil

Please forward this over to NI software as a bug... Minor, but still annoying.
