S4 line in works, but no Mic input on deck D

I face a quite strange issue... I've been using S4 since almost 2 years, there was no problem at all. But last week I've tried to connect my mic into it, and there was no signal. I've checked the input routing and absolutely no signal was displayed. I've tried is through, usb mode, but I wasn't success. Than I've tried to connect my mp3 player via RCA and it worked fine. This is still deck D. So RCA works (through and usb mode as well), but mic doesn't.
I said, ok I'll bring it back to the distributor and they will check it out. But during the gig the sound was dropped twice. After the sound drop there were no sound output on the back and on the front as well. It worked as controller, but not as soundcard. I had to turn it off and back on. But this takes 5-10 sec after realising what happened, so this is not so cool.
After I survived the gig I contacted the distributor in Hungary, they were very helpful and gave me a swap S4, so I was happy that I can keep going with my gigs. But at home I've made a test to go for sure and the same situation happened. No mic input, but RCA works.
So now I don't know what to do, tonight I have to work and I'm not sure if it won't drop audio again...
After swapping the S4s this looks not hardware, instead some kind of software, or driver problem. I use it on a MacBook Pro, on Lion.
Any idea?

 

If the RCA's work then so should the mic if it was software. This has to be a hardware issue. Are you sure your mic is working. MIc cable problem? Do you have the mic gain on the back of the S4 turned up?

 

The mic and the cable works properly with other mixers! The S4 is a replacement from the distributor, so this is the second hardware that has no mic input, but the line works fine.

 

Do you have a condenser or dynamic mic. The S4 does not supply phantom power to condenser mics.

 

I have a dynamic mic, but as I told it worked fine, and suddenly stopped working. But the line works, what is strange, because it is the same input panel...
So I have checked my mic, my cable with other mixer and they works fine. I have a spare S4 and it has the same issue, so this is the problem of the S4, or the software...

 

Wow. Ok I can't believe this is a hardware issue with all the units, but yet as far as I know it must be as the switch from RCA to mic is in hardware. Traktor only gets whichever signal the S4 passes through. Please contact support on this.

Out of interest which version of traktor are you on? Did you update recently?

 

Just adding two cents (USD, of course), IIRC the mic and RCA are mutually exclusive with the mic having priority. According to the S4 manual:

So if you can hear line/phono inputs 3/4 instead of the mic when both are plugged in, there is definitely a hardware issue.

Hi. I have a same problem. MIC input not working, but RCA works properly. I have decided, that I will use microphone connected in RCA of input channel D switched to phono. Do you think that it will do some problems in the future?? Any idea how can be fixed it?
