Right now im in this situation. I've bought the S4 with TP2 compelte and am going to sell the S4 for the T1. My plan is to sell the S4 without the software and use it for the DDJ T1 as i want the full version of traktor. My question is:

    1) If i have TP2 for my S4, do i need to register a completely new Traktor pro 2 key in order to use it in my T1, or can i just plug in my T1 onto my laptop and away i go?

    2) Relating to above, are there any plug ins or extra downloads necessary to get things going?

    3) Anyone know if there is seamless integration between TP2 full and DDJ T1? I haven't read of too many issues from looking on the web..

    Thanks!

You cannot sell your Kontroller without the software, they are part of bundle. If you have registered your S4 Kontroller it will be linked to your software.

    But to answer your questions.

    1. You can use the software with the DDJT1 as it is, just run the setup wizard.

    2. Nope.

    3. Yes, see answer no'1

why dj-tt? i understand it has better build quality, but many functions arent there(loop recorder ,loop move encoders..)
pluss its not the best time to change. In january there should be new models about thats usually around than about a month away. surley next gen controllers must be better than a year old models. denon just came with mc-3000 . i think 2012 we will see some awsome models coming out. i am thinking the same to change my s4 but i will wait.:)

I also don't think that the DDJ-T1 is an "upgrade." While I'm sure that it's a fine product, IMHO it's not in the same league as the S4.

    SO..

you would sell the S4 plus TP2 as a bundle, then pay more than twice as much to get the DDJ-T1 plus TP2 upgrade?..

I hope you get what you are looking for...personally i dont see the T1 as any upgrade from the S4, and a lousy bargain at twice the price.

Interesting. Between me and my buddy we have a T1 and S4. They are both good controllers.

    BUT

Pioneer does have a superior layout compared to the S4 IMHO. I don't like clutter below my control surface, it makes the controller feel crowded. If you are getting the Pioneer DDJ-T1, the only reason you should really "upgrade/change" is if you want a different layout and a bigger board. They are basically the same feature wise. Also the T1 has a tab bit bigger control surface based on the CDJ 400 platter wheel.
