    Hey,

I'm looking to get a new midi controller for Traktor (home use only) and have narrowed to these 3:
    - S4 Kontrol
    - Denon MC6000
    - Novation Twitch

I'm using Traktor 2.5, and have starting to use the remix deck, mostly just for loops recorded through the loop recorder.

From the reading I've done and reviews I've watched I'm tending towards the Denon, but I'm not settled yet. Both the Denon and the s4 offer easier access to managing 4-decks which I'm using more and more.

I will go to a shop and play with all 4, but I wanted to know if there are any gotchas about any of them from those who have used them.

What about bass kills switches/buttons / filters / switching from decks AB to CD?

    Cheers,

the Denon MC6000 has a full standalone analog Mixer. And it has the best build quality of the three.
I heard that the Output of the Novation Twitch is a little bit too quiet.
Finally, the S4 will probably have the best integration in Traktor.

I use a Denon MC3000. I can only highly recommend Denon.

Thanks arkuuu. i have been leaning towards the Denon myself. Can I ask what you do about bass kill switches or filters on the 3000?

I don't use kill switches, if you wan't it, you will have to map it on your own. The MC3000 has dedicated filter knobs for each channel.
At the moment i don't really like the integration of the remix decks on the MC3000, i liked the old sample decks more. But i must admit that i'm not really into the new remix decks so far.

If you have any question about the MC3000, feel free to ask ;)

    Hi.

    I would recommend the S4.

I also had to decide between the S4 and the MC6000.

I went for the MC6000 for the following reasons:

    - 2 mic inputs
    - Talk over function on mic channels
    - EQ's on both mic inputs
    - Stand alone mixer as well (can be used without a Laptop)
    - Build more reliable
    - XLR main outputs and separate balanced booth outputs
    - Smaller footprint

However, in your case as you said it will be used for home use only.
So XLR outs, EQ's on mics, Strong built, smaller footprint may not be of concern to you.
Also the S4 is more suited to traktor as it is built for Traktor, so if mixing and producing is of your main concern, the S4 would be the better option. Although the MC6000 would also be excellent

    Regards

Thanks for that. I'm going to try them both out side by side soon.
