S4 + X1 ?

Hi OneCrazyDJ,

Just followed the steps as you described above. But I'm running into severe problems...

I deleted the original X1 mapping like you said, but whenever I import something new, one of my other tsi's disappears from the list of devices (wtf?). Just like it's allowed to have only two mappings in there?

I have TP2 with an S4 and just got the X1 today, including the sample deck overlay. All very nice, but NI forgot to mention how to install this in combination with the S4. :angry:

Well, after some time messing around I managed to get the X1 working in combination with the S4, but now I've lost my gain sensitivity .tsi that I imported before.
After my experiences this evening, I'm affraid that when I try to import it again, it messes something else up.

Anyone else uses the gain sensitivity .tsi in combination with S4 and X1 in TP2?

 

You should NOT click on the Import button at the bottom of Preferences window to import a single mapping. Proceed like this instead:

I have an S4, X1 and an F1 as my kit. Overkill? Naw! I love it....

Problem is when I connect the X1, I loose the capability on my S4 to control FX bank 1 on Deck B, and I lose capability to control FX bank 2 on Deck A.

Is there a fix to this? I would like to still be able to control effects banks 1 and 2 on deck a and b. I control deck c and d with the X1, so no big deal there.

Yes there is a fix to it! Man I love when I can help, I know this bc I had the EXACT same problem minus the F1 which I don't need. Anyway use Ean Goldens midimap here: https://maps.djtechtools.com/mappings/2

Thanks for the reply. Is there any way just to get the effects banks working as they did with just the S4 (minus the X1)? Ean's mapping would remap my whole setup, I guess I am trying to understand why the effects bank (1 and 2) are not assignable from the S4 hardware when the X1 is connected. Is this a bug?

Why don't you create a new map for TS4 to coincide with your existing map. Creat the midi map just for the FX buttons. Correct me if I'm worng, but all the maps you have created or have imported into your Controller Manager should all work at the same time. I could be wrong though.

 

Hello and thanks for the response. I am using the standard mapping that came with the S4 and X1. The X1 is just to control FX on 3 and 4. Hey-DJ, if you use the standard stock mapping and use your S4 and X1 for FX on 3 and 4 did you get this symptom? It I just dont understand why the I cant use the S4 hardware to control FX bank 1 on Deck B, and I lose capability to control FX bank 2 on Deck A. I am not good at creating new maps, I have not ventured into my own custom mappings as of yet. This seems like a bug.?:S

 

oh actualy this is a good thing . Thank god i didnt sold my both X1 controllers as well when i bought the S4 ... Ill try that out ! thank you

I know that the question of that topic has been answered already, but its also a while since the last productive post here. My question is : How can i add X1 (especially to control samples on C/D) to the S4 without loosing any of the S4 standard functions ? Is there a way ?
