I have made a decision to purchase a S49 keyboard and while searching some threads I came upon an issue from 2019 with compatibility issues with the S series controllers and Windows 10. A lot of people were stating non-compatibility with the S49 and unable to get drivers to work and the keyboard was basically useless. One person actually connected the S49 to his Mac, downloaded and updated the driver and then it worked in his PC. This reminds me of issues from the 90’s but unacceptable in 2021. If I am going to spend $700 on a controller I do expect it to work without issues.
The reason I am starting this thread is that after finding these discussions from 19 I have not found, or I could have missed the resolution to the issue.
So I am asking if anyone is using a S series controller/keyboard and using it on a computer with Windows 10 is there a compatibility issue.
In other words does it work? Can I just “plug and play” with the S49 controller?
    Thank you.

My s61 mk1 and s49 mk2 both work with windows 10. I use power adapter for both, not relying on usb host power. Using with studio one v5 and also standalone Kontakt. Main issues folks have with all usb devices on windows are related to optimization such as disabling usb go to sleep stuff.

Did you get the power adapter directly from Native Instruments? Since I fried a portable hard drive last year using the wrong adapter I am leery of using a non OEM.
    Thanks.

Hi, no, I got a common one via Amazon. But I think it was from
D'Addario Planet Waves -- I "think" it was same one used for pedals. But double check the volt and amps.

I think I am going to order one. I wonder if they ever go on sale. Presonus has a great article on using the S series with Studio One 5, which to me is an added bonus.
