S8 audio confusion

Hi all,

I'm setting up my S8 which had been gathering a bit of dust, and I can't seem to remember how I had it working previously. My setup at the moment is;

S8 connected to PC via USB
Decks connected to S8
Focusrite Clarett 2pre as soundcard

Now I can get audio within Traktor Scratch Pro to play normally, but I can't seem to get any audio from the decks. I've got thru mode enabled, and audio is showing up in the software VU meters - but I can't hear it?

Hi, as i understood, you have set focusrite as a sound device and S8 only as controller. If you have connected external sources to S8, you have to connect S8 output (main out) to Focusrite's line in.
edit / another thought: have you tried disabling the "thru mode" and have set deck to "live deck" (in traktor)? Anyway, i assume that if S8 isnt set as sound device, it will not capture the sound from external decks and best solution (if you dont want to use S8 as sound device) is to turn on "thru mode" and physically route main outs to focusrite (if there is that option). Maybe there is a possibility, that some thirdparty software can route s8 to focusritewithout wires - maybe this: https://jackaudio.org/ - i dont have any experiences with it, just googled)...
edit #2: i got similar setup, but reversed: s8 sound&controller device for traktor + komplete audio 2 for ableton. S8 A&B traktor trackdeck, Audio wire from komplete to s8 deck D for some instrument experiments with effects&vst and C for another line in or mic. I ve read some posts about not so good sound clarity/quality of S8, but i am ok with that.
