s8 display screen problems

No, I did not, I could not get the screens to illuminate, Both screens quit after a while, personally I think it was a hardware fail, I could even go as far as Screen Driver component failure however... I tried my best without unscrewing the s8

been to hell and back... Sent S8 back to dj company for RMA repair and in the process, the S8 got stolen after UPS had delivered it to the Company we bought it from
go figgure ...

Long story short, 2 months go by and decided to buy a brand new S8, with, a 4 year Ext. warranty.

I would strongly recommend getting an Ext. warranty on any and all DJ. Products/Devices.
(not going thru this, cough with my pants down , all over again ;)

i think it is all coming from bad graphic card chip from the computer. (for the broken fonts)
or the driver issue, (either recently automatic updated or never was right video driver)

Thanks for the reply, However, personally I think its nothing to do with the laptop,, as I have another S8 that works Floor-less-ley on the Same laptop as the my first s8.with the same "installed" Traktor Scratch Pro, same old cables, same everything just new s8 + PSU.
I still think it was S8 Hardware Fail. even with "No Laptop Connected", the old S8 had No "On Board displays" at all, but Sadly, we will never know now, as my 1st S8 unit was stolen. loving the new S8

 

Hi all,
I have just migrated over to a new workstation after my othe rmusic box (Haswel LGA1150 i7 16GB RAM) Failed on me.
Anyhow, Now im on 9th Gen i5 9400 8GB RAM with 1160Ti 6GB discrete GPU. I followed the steps posted above by the other guy on previous page (Thanks btw). I tested with HDMI only and with DP. changed NVIDIA control panel settings as in the steps previously. etc etc.
BUT.. then i thought.. Drivers for my S8. head over to https://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/downloads/drivers-other-files/
Device Updater for Traktor Kontrol S8 1.1.0 - Windows This did the trick.
I wrongly assumed that by installing Traktor v3.x it would install my drivers for my Kontrol s8.
Anyway the Two LCD screens are fixed and no longer Blank.. Back to full power & works rock solid. Lesson learnt.
Check the diagnostic tool that F/W is upto date.
I am running with display port on i5 with 8GB DDR4 ram with 1160Ti cheap and nasty but works fine!!!
