    Hello everybody,

I´m new to mapping and want to be carefully, so i decided to ask in the forum. I tried to search for a solution but the results were very old. Is it nowadays possible to map the eq/filter section to 4 band eq (xone) on the kontrol s8? Thx in advance

I am pretty sure the answer would be no as there are no documented mapping commands for 4 bands. Also the latest Traktor Pro manual is quite clear on the matter:

    EQ / Filter Selection
    • EQ Type: Selects the EQ type to be controlled using the internal Mixer. You can choose between six alternative EQ Types, which differ from each other in their sound and features:
    • Classic: The standard three-band TRAKTOR EQ.
    • P600: This three-band EQ model references older DJ mixers by a Japanese manufacturer.
    • NUO: This three-band EQ model references a line of DJ mixers by a Spanish manufacturer.
    • Xone: This EQ model references a line of DJ mixers by a British manufacturer. It adds an
additional mid setting for a total of four EQ-bands. Note that this additional band may not be
      accessible from your controller.
    • Z ISO: This is the same three-band EQ as found in the new TRAKTOR KONTROL Z2 DJ
mixer. It is a full kill isolator EQ with a 24 db/octave slope, and sharply cuts the respective frequency band when turned fully counterclockwise.
    • P800: This three-band EQ model references more recent DJ mixers by a Japanese manufacturer.
I must admit I'm curious as to how Traktor's Xone EQ model works - I assume it treats the 2 mid bands as 1.

Traktor treats the midhigh band as mid. So the midlow band is not mapped. The workaround would be (for me at least) to remap the low band knobs to midlow and the filter knobs to low. If i want to use a filter, i can use one of the FX Units. It works fine for the S4 (any version) but i am unsure if the S8 mixer controls can be remapped.
