Hello. I bought the S88 two weeks ago and its not working properly. Here is my current setup:

    Machine: Windows 10 laptop.
Sound: Internal ASIO sound card (I deliberately disconnected my external audio interface to isolate the issue)
    DAW: Cubase 11

The keyboard is connected to my laptop with the USB cable that came with the keyboard. I used the NI instructions on YouTube to wire up the S88 with Cubase (See attached screenshots).

The keyboard knobs/buttons are working fine (e.g browsing instruments, play/stop/loop/record...etc). However, when I load any VST instrument (including NI VST instruments and when using the Komplete Kontrol Interface via Cubase track), pressing any keys on the S88 doesn't produce any sound or MIDI signal at all. I tested the VST with virtual keyboard and it's producing sound as expected. So clearly not a DAW issue. the keyboard lights are corresponding to key strokes (Not that this is indicative of anything).

Same issue is happening when I load Komplete Kontrol as a stand alone interface. Keyboard knobs/buttons are working but keys are not.

Did anyone face this issue? Could this be a hardware issue? I have been trying to figure this out for two weeks now and would really appreciate any help.

You don’t appear to have a midi port, only the daw port (control port)

Ditch cubase for the moment and just test with the standalone Komolete kontrol app.

you will need to check your drivers because if the midi port isn’t installed, keyboard is not going to work. May have to try uninstall and reinstall the kk software maybe but post a screenshot of the midi settings in that.

And while install the drivers disconnect the keyboard or turn it of, then disable "all midi" for the DAW port but set it on for the other port, that is now missing.

Thank you so much guys for the quick reply. So I did what you suggested and launched the Komplete Kontrol app as standalone. Same thing happening. Hardware working but keyboard is not. I attached screenshots for my MIDI input/output.

If the MIDI port is missing, how do I install it on my machine? I checked the Audio settings (See screenshot) and I don't see S88 keyboard listed. Is that expected?

I have used this laptop with other MIDI controllers and never had an issue so I'm not entirely sure what to do. Would appreciate the feedback for sure.

    Thanks again.

Drivers havent been installed or NI host integration service is not running.

first steps...disconnect the KB, reinstall Komplete Kontrol, reconnect KB, check if Midi driver available in KK (not just the DAW driver)
