I just get S88 MKII. I also have Yamaha Clavier digital piano with three pedals.

Question: Can I use Yamaha Clavier e-piano sustain pedal (the one on the right side) to apply on S88 as sustain pedal, use MIDI Out on Yamaha to MIDI In on S88? Again, I am talking about using pedal on the Yamaha keyboard, not the Yamaha sustain pedal unit which will connect to S88 pedal port.

    Thanks.

    Should be possible.

All you would need to do is in Preferences > Midi > Input make sure both your Yamaha and S88 are set as an input (or if you are in a DAW, make sure both keyboards are set in the DAW preferences.

The signal is still a "sustain" so it does not matter what device sends it, if all devices can play an instrument any one of them can sustain it. I do exactly this in Ableton Live using the sustain on my S61 to sustain on the Ableton Push just because I don't want multiple foot pedals for the same thing. Works fine.

Thank you very much!!! It works now when I connected Yamaha MIDI out to my Audio Interface MIDI in, make YAMAHA connect to my system. Thanks.

Just curious that if I could directly connect YAMAHA MIDI out to S88 MIDI in, any system setup change could make that works for using YAMAHA pedal? Thanks.

Probably. If you have a cable, do as I typically would, conduct a scientific test
