    Hello, I'm having a bit of trouble with kontakt 3.02, wich I din't use to have i n v2.

The problem is when i edit a sample with the external editor...
I open up the sample trough kontakt with ext. editor (using sony sound forge), do what i want to do, and then save the sample. In kontakt the, the sample is updated and all is well.
BUT, when i save the multi (i have always saved only multis, I rarely have use for individial instruments) and then load the multi back, the sample has reverted back to how it was before i edited it.
Is there a reason for this to be happening? Am I missing something?

I use kontakt inside Cubase SX 3... In windows..

A couple of potential reasons for this--may or may not be the case:

    1) If you rely on the host's total recall to restore the multi, as opposed to manually loading the multi through the Load/Save dialog in Kontakt, the host will always load the last state of Kontakt it knew of when the project was saved. This can be a totally different state than the multi you have explicitly saved. Sounds obvious, but it can cause problems ;)

    2) If you save the edited sample in SoundForge with the same filename as the existing sample but in a different place, and Kontakt can't find the samples when the multi is reloaded due to a reference problem (like that above), it can automatically attempt to resolve the reference in the background and relink to the wrong sample...but not realize it is the wrong sample because the file name is the same.

The way to get to the bottom of this is to create a dummy SX project, load in some instruments, make a change in SoundForge and save the file, close SoundForge and then save the Kontakt multi. Don't save the SX project. Then restart SX and load in your saved multi and see if the problem persists. Let us know...
