I hear ya bra... with hindsight I mite have went with T.Pro/A8 for the hot cue option.... but I'm def not reinvesting in it now... I've bought enough of off N.I. - for the time being anyway, duo/x1/bag(still waiting on)/vinyls etc .. a wee sampler that will kick off through deck 1 and 2 or both via a4/8 would make me one hell of a satisfied customer.. dammit id nearly buy maschine in my frenzied excitement....

 

All i can say is instead of mpc friendly , better , MAschine friendly d(-.-)b

Always loved my TSP, will love it more with the sampler. If Serato can go so far with all the needs for the user why not our NI. I am still waiting.....

 

Serato and also Mixvibes Pro who has got a 16 pads sampler for several years now...

For the time being i use a program called combiwave lite in the background. The free version has 3 sample slots. The program supports global hotkeys so I can trigger it while Traktor is in fullscreen mode using alt+1, alt+2 & alt+3.

Come on NI - A simple sample player as a master effect? Some OOP should allow for simple implementation once a single slot has been developed.

 

Good way to lose out on potential customers. It is stupid really, considering the competition and options out there. NI devolop these things for a living, so I can't see the problem

 

There's not that much in the way of competition really. I think NI will just wait until Ableton/Serato finally.......... Release bridge and then drop something new they've been working on for a while now.

 

I'm gonna add my voice to this one also.... long overdue guys come on.. I play reggae and my mates with Serato are laughin at me dragging around a separate sampler just for the odd siren drop!

 

But you have four decks and they don't! I've just been using deck 4 when I need to drop sirens or gunshots. KX1 FTW.

 

True but not the same:
1.) you can't route those decks to the master => so you need a four channel mixer!
2.) you have to produce "sample-tracks" with cuepoints => No spontanious dragging and dropping of different samples into seperate slots!
3.) The two extra decks take up WAY TO MUCH SPACE on my laptop screen - way more then a serato like sampler would - and yes I know you can hide them but when drunk and spinning I like seeing what's going on!

So as for now I'll still be dragging my sp-404 from gig to gig.
Well at least untill the Android App - I'm working on is fully finished (More info to come soon)!

 

Yeah I know it's a workaround and I agree with the need for a sampler. But that's how I get around it for now and it works pretty well.

I actually have a long sample file with different horns and whatnot mapped to hotcues that I can trigger from my KX1 or keyboard.

Yess, we can use decks 3/4 for samples, but we can't record in beat in realtime, and After press "stop" having the recorded sample in-synch with the tracks are playing, like in an HW sampler or in Reason/Record 5/1.5
