Not to beat a dead horse, but I just thought about this. So are you saying I didn't need the wires in the first place. All I needed to do was switch the recording device in Windows?

Yes, sort of, Maschine doesn't actually support wave audio, so you would still have needed to record to a piece of software that supports that (Like every piece of software that NI don't make hahahaha)
But recording is not the way to go !!

mevans, all you had to do was route the sound from your pc to go into maschine. that way all sound on you pc would be picked up by maschine and no need for third party audio players or jack or anything like that. but glad you got it working as i went through this and it drove me insane but seemed easy once i figures it out. i have a focus right saffire pro 24 (firewire)

And that is the part that I did not understand. You guys make it sound so easy on here, but like you said it drives me insane! Can you provide a step by step or some screen shots so I can try it? I'm sure having a split Y-cable from my PC connecting to 2 adapters and then to 2 cables and then to the Focusrite isn't the best for sound quality.

I'm not ignoring you Tooshka!! I'm just trying to see the other options. Seeing that I tried them all and couldn't get them to work, I am just wondering what the hell I was doing wrong. C'mon maaaan, haha.. thx again for the input.

I posted a link showing you how simple it is to do, I can't do anymore than that, you might want to search other forums/blogs for some basics in Windows audio, that will probably get you started.

I will definitely check it out. BTW, I know it negates this whole conversation, but in sampling mode Sync vs Detect - it seems like Sync is not working. I should just hit play with Sync enabled and it should pick it up for the amount of bars I have it set to, correct??

But I can probably just use Wavosaur and call it a day!!

No worries man, I got it working with the cables. I'm sure there's a number of ways to do it. I just got the thing a month ago, so still messing with everything.. thanks for the input!

Sorry been away but i will post how i do it later today. It might be my m-audio card that allows this routing option. But my win amp is setup with any of the sound card options i.e. primary sound driver or asio. Maschine set up as you would expect asio with all input and outputs of my audio card exactly as expected. then in sampling mode select external source. then whatever you want sync or detect hit record and pay on winamp... done deal.

Basically if you rout all windows mixer channels to route through master it would work
