    Hi,

I've just picked up a new laptop - its a Samsung r780 core i5 with 4 gig ram and Realtek HD audio sound card. Its running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

I have used Traktor 3 in the past on an old HP nc6120 windows XP laptop and never really had any problems. After getting this new laptop I downloaded the latest Demo of Traktor DJ Studio Pro to test it out and see if I want to buy it.

Unfortunately the demo constantly seems to crash at random times (sometimes when you load a track onto the deck - others when you just close it down.

Also, when it does work, i seem to be getting a bit of disturbance in the sound quality (more noticible when using filters - its as if there are lots of pops going on in the background.

I've tried running in compatibiliy mode but to no avail. I've also gone into the sound options within traktor to play with latency but I cannot adjust it.

I was wondering if anyone else has had any success on the demo with a simillar spec'd machine? Also would you recommmend I get an external soundcard? I dont DJ really I just like having a play around now and then and I am really disappointed after my new purchase that Traktor doesn't seem to be able to work on it! :(

Hope someone can help - if you need any more info I would be happy to provide it.

    Cheers,

    eZ

    aha! Sorted it!

Seems my audio quality settings were too high for my soundcard (set to 48000 hz instead of 44100 hz) - traktor doesnt seem to like it set this high and this was causing the crashes and the popping - just thought i'd post the answer in case others have similar issues.

    ;)
