    Hello,

    I recently purchased Guitar Combo 3 and I am trying to create loops saved into a wave file that has the guitar effects. I am using the program as a stand alone. I like the Core Power preset and I record a song using that preset, but when I save it the saved music is just the basic guitar, and not the Core Power preset effect. How am I able to save the files straight from the Guitar Combo 3 software with the guitar effects saved on the wave file? This program is useless to me if I am unable to record music files using the combo presets. I tried finding the answer on the website but it seems to be completely useless and extremely confusing and circular. If anyone knows please let me know what I need to do so that the saved wave files have the effects on them. Thanks.

    If you're using it standalone, how are you recording anything?

    For what you're doing, you should be using a sequencer of some sort that will allow you to record what you're doing. If you're *just* recording one guitar part and you want to put effects, any stereo wave editor will do. But it sounds like you need to start using Combos as a plug-in in another host program.

    Well, my iAXE-393 guitar came with Audacity and Kristal, but the guitar plugs into my computer and I use Guitar Combo 3 so I can use presets to make the guitar distorted. The Guitar Combo 3 lets me set a preset and record what I play on the guitar and then it lets me save that recorded loop. However, when I go back and listen to that saved file, it is just the guitar with no presets effects. I am simply trying to get an actual sound file with the preset effects on it so I can use it for loops in other audio software. I do not know how I could use the Guitar Combo 3 with other software. I fail to see the point of having the guitar plug into my computer so I can record pedal and amp effects if I am unable to save the music with those effects added. Any idea of what I am missing, or what I need to do so I can get sound files with the pedal and amp effects?

    You have to record the dry guitar in Kristal or other DAW and apply guitar combos as a plugin effect and "bounce" as a final output.

    You're recoring audio OK, you're just getting the clean sound only. You need to process the parts with a bounce.

    I don't want to reiterate what's in the manual. Do you have access to it?

    hey i have the same problem but i started off by reading the manual, which didn't really help me. If I read the correct file, the manual is very short and does only explain how to record the guitar with Kristal and Audacity. But if I open Audacity and go to the menu where I'm supposed to choose my guitar, I can only choose either the "Microsoft soundmapper" or the "C-Media Wave Device". I really hope you can help me out here.
    And I've got another Problem: recently my iAxe guitar just stopped working, I plugged it in & everything but theres no green light anymore... maybe someone knows what happened? I hardly used the guitar because I can't record it, so I'm really confused.
    thanks!

    If your iAxe is busted, you'll need to talk to Behringer!

    And the version of Guitar Combos that ships with the iAxe is standalone only, and does not come with plug-in versions.

    This is confusing to me as their is a normal retail version of Combos that ships with both stand alone and plug-in versions.

    Sorry for any confusion that this may have brought me.

    Hi out there. I'm new to this,but not to make-do solutions. I also noticed that my Combo software doesn't appear to have plug-in capablity though I may just not know where the switch is at the moment. i'm playing through the UCG 102 really like the tape player feature and the fact that it can load from an outside source. I also want to record my live line over what I have on the recorder. I monitor at the output and I was thinking one way I could do it would be to use the stereo headphone output and hook it up to my Fostek 4-track digital recorder which, by the way, also has a usb interface for loading finished stereo wav files back into a software domain like audacity or a sequencer. I'm pretty i can get the result I want that way, if anyone know a more computer only way to get it done, please let me know.

    Just got back from overseas and had a chance to read this.

    I see... What should I do then? Is there any way I can still get my effects saved?

    I have recently obtained G. Combo 1 and running as a standalone program. It's good. But I would like start using the software as a plug-in in another host program, Apples GarageBand. NI provide me with the followinf info
    "the Guitar Combos can be used as Audio Units plug-in within Garage Band".
    Precisely how is this achieved, considering that other AU's I have were installed in "/Library/Audio/Plug_ins/Components"?

    Record Guitar Combo effect directly to GarageBand

    Computer: iMac G5 2Ghz PPC, OSX 10.4.9
    After several unsuccessful attempts to use my Guitar Combo as a plugin (it turned out to be the standalone version) I found the following to
    work under OSX (not tried on PC).

    Audio interface: Behringer UCG102
    Software: NI Guitar Combo 1, standalone & Apple GarageBand 3.

    1. Connect UCG102 to computer via USB
    2. Plug guitar (Ibanez AF75 here) into UCG102 guitar port
    3. Connect UCG102 headphone port to the computer "Line In" port (stero lead)
    4. Connect headphones to computer headphone port
    I then used the following audio settings:
    Apple System Prefs->Sound: Input/Output: Built In Audio or Aggregate Device or USB Audio Codec
    Guitar Combo Prefs->Sound Tab: "Aggregate Device"
    Guitar Combo Prefs->Routing Tab
    Outputs = "Aggregate Device Out 1 & 2"
    Outputs = "Aggregate Device In 1 & 2"
    GarageBand Prefs->Audio: Input/Output = "Built In Audio"

    I was then able to hear and record the selected GC ouput in GB.
    I Hope this is useful. Regards k.

    I don't have combos installed, but on the tapedeck, is there a switch for "at input" and "at output"? If so, record the output.

    Is the a Behringer combo, or one of the full-NI versions?
