I got Vokator a week ago, overall I'm impressed.

My main purpose in buying Vokator was to create unique drum sounds, save those sounds as wave files, and then create drum kits with those wave files in Kontakt.

But, apparently, you can't save your output as wave files; Vokator is only real-time. Vokator is way cool, but it's a CPU hog, and I don't want to run several instances of Vokator to create a drum set when it would be easier to run one instance of Kontakt.

NI, is there any plan to include wave file output in a future release?

That is what "bounce to disk" is for in your host software. Most of these plugins are just that: plugins intended to be used with some host software. If you don't have a host software package yet, I recommend that you check it out and pick something up.

Nando, thanks for your feedback. Yes, you are correct that if I used Vokator as a plug-in, then I could save my sonic output to a wave file.

However, I'm using standalone mode for now. My goal is to create lots of cool sounds for my own personal library, and then use this library when I upgrade to a new computer and Sonar.

I still believe that "save as wave file" would be a useful addition to Vokator, for people such as me who work in standalone mode.

I like using the export in absynth and in Reaktor, I wish to see something similar in vokator too..

The export options in FL Studio are very good. And AFAIK you can even use the demo to export wav files ! I'd give that a try first.

    Hello list,

of course an audio file recorder is on our to-do list. Please be patient, it should be available with the next major update!

how about the AU version? Are we going to have to wait for the major update?

I noticed that you have not posted to the thread asking for an update. 30 days ago you implied that you thought it might be done within 30 days. Please let us know.

Never mind, I checked the chart and Vokator AU has been moved back to August. Along with virtually every other NI product. What are the odds that they will release the AU for all those plugs in the same month. Sigh.

    Sigh Sigh Sigh.

If the answer is always soon it is never now.

    I found a workaround

I use Creative Wave Studio, which came with the SoundBlaster audio card I purchased about 4 years ago, to record the output from Vokator. I find a sound in Vokator that I like, press record in Wave Studio, make the sound in Vokator, and then press stop record in Wave Studio. I then crop the sample in the wave file (delete any silence before and after the vokator sound), and sometimes increase the sound's volume if it is too quiet.

I assume software that's similar to Creative Wave Studio would also work.

    Hello,

of course the AU plug-in will not part of an major update. We are working hard on it indeed at this moment, as you can read in my other post...
