Maybe it's just me but song layer is just the start of what Maschine needs moving forward... Linear automation, audio tracks, after-touch. Improved handling of midi to name a few things.

If Maschine wants us to use their software and hardware environment and has made the focus of their product line the tight integration of the hardware within the software, then these really need to be planned and implemented. Because if not, then all this JAM stuff is shiny stuff to distract us from what this needs. If as NI says that the song layer is meant to be used so that most of us will only need to leave Maschine software environment to mix, then we really will need these type of improvements I listed to complete a full track.

I said it from the beginning "the day jam is released you'll already be waiting for an update, not cool." However, I feel the same way if that song layer is the real deal I will buy maschine jam literally without a second thought.

Give NI a chance to release the song layer. Jam is still pretty good without it depending on what you do.

Playing devils advocate I would say from the other side that it looks like as you say "here we are, ungrateful NI customers, getting something they have asked for (some of us, not me) and already asking for something more." The issue I take is that everything I've listed I feel are larger concerns to me personally in terms of making Maschine a product that really can be used to make music in, beginning to end (which NI have stated when talking about the song layer as something that they want to happen.) In other words, how many of us asked for JAM, really? JAM is no doubt a product that has it's uses and boons and nice features... but I wouldn't say that what JAM offers is something greater than other feature requests. As b-righteous has mentioned, JAM may have been a necessary product to get song layer, but I hope that new software feature= new product to buy is not the norm going forward, and also that song layer is the beginning step on the way to making Maschine a better product than it already is. Not to sound ungrateful or unappreciative but Maschine does need more than just song layer going forward, and I hope it gets there.

So maybe the Jam User now calm down from the experience and wake up that they spend 399€ for a new piece Hardware with the info / software is not ready jet ? Now maybe we are back again one Maschine family with focus to Ask Ni what's going on ? .. the new way of communicating .. was the Plan .. . The forum is full with Jam now .. Jam jam Jam yeah .. but I think to remember .. there was a time before .. so Jam was maybe a good idea .. the unready software to sell a second time ,too. So I think everybody who own allready Jam Must love / trust Ni much .. so I really hope you all get the love send back . Now let us together sit and wait :D for the one Big Update .

I agree 100%. None of us are saying in no way shape or form NI should not move forward with new products, but if existing issues have not been addressed how can we be expected to get on board with a new product that has/does not address some of those existing issues and there is no time table as to when they will be addressed. As it has already been stated if you are going to be performing out AWESOME! Pick up jam immediately but if you are trying to get your concepts, ideas together to create and compose a full piece of music... Jam at this point is not the answer

District Onagi & rmaxty statement represent a lot of us here I would imagine, but I'll take it even a step further with how I feel at this point. After 2.0 broke a lot of what didn't need fixing and then NI just left the building like Elvis (communication) lol, then popped in with a new attitude and then bam a new controller...I'm inclined to wait awhile before another maschine purchase. Fool me once that can be understandable, fool me twice I need my head examined

My offer: give me song mode and lets me sequence in my daw, and ill fork over for a jam. Otherwise that'll probably go to a push. Offer good until Christmas. Only a man, do what i can.

Went to the music store today. Maschine Jam is selling pretty well at my local music stores. I would love to see a maschine workshop with comfort fit coming to the states showcasing maschine jam with the standard groovebox. Great time being an NI fan for some.

I downloaded the new update but no better daw integration. I can get what I need elsewhere. There will come a time I will give up waiting and just sell off what I have. I was patient now I just don't care. I'm certain I'm not the only one in that boat. I will dig into maschine at home this weekend and the next few weeks to see if I can bond with it. I don't dislike maschine but I prefer my daw and that's that. I think jam looks cool and seems like fun but it frosts me up thinking it is here, and what 1.8 had and 2.0 broke still isn't fixed. I no longer believe it will be fixed and that is a deal breaker for me. The perpetual harden the fanboys have pisses me off. All I can do is conclude this bit of kit just isn't for me anymore. Obviously it's right up others alleys so hey have fun, I'm glad it works for you, but NI isn't getting any more of my cash. I will be back in a few months to see how things shake out. In the mean time I wish you all well and happy jamming on your maschine home and jam! I sincerely mean that!

I think many will get it later on once they see more and more people use it. Especially with song layer!

Is it just me, or...has Skins cloned himself? I don't get this?

Fanboy crap and I get an email notice about a reply. Now every thread should be unwatched and a thread should never be watched just because your read it or replied. I have never blocked anyone but damn I'm close. This however demonstrates exactly why I think it's time to bail on maschine, to many people are willing to overlook problems and lost functionality and keep investing in this ecosystem. I just sit back and shake my head. I was never a maschine power user and since 2.0 I have done little to become one. I have to hand it to NI they really know how to handle their loyal user base.

Edit to apologize perhaps I was a bit harsh. I actually like skins posts and on occasion I do learn form them but the new skins was to much. I will continue to use maschine to make rhythms and such and load them in my Daw and practice improvising with other instruments over it. So like I said I am no power user. Have fun everyone!
