SB Live! 24bit External USB Card & Traktor

Hey guys, I've been searching these forums and the Creative forums for hours looking for the answer to my question and still can't find it, so forgive me for asking.

Is the SB Live! 24bit External USB Card compatable for use as a multichannel soundcard for Traktor? At the moment, the only channels on the card available for use within the Traktor options are the front left and right. There is no option to select the sub, centre or rear channels on the card.

In the Creative Speaker setup, I've tried testing the speakers with noise, but the only output (for all channels) can be heard through the front speakers. Nothing from the others.

Does it simply NOT WORK, or am I incredibly stupid? I'm prepared to go with stupid.

If your card is set up correctly in the first place, and it does support the extra channels, then they should show up in the soundcard setup panel in traktor.

With USB sound devices, one thing to be careful of is that quite often they will just install themselves as a USB composite device, and work in stereo mode with no drivers having being installed. Try chucking the driver CD for your soundcard at the problem, and see if it makes the other channels available to use.

Bag the crap Creative drivers and install the KX Project driver for it.

i have this card and have been using it for over a year and no problems until about a month ago. i get a msg that says cant find drivers

 

Card works fine, you have to turn on 5.1 surround sound in the soundcards control panel then the multi outputs show up ok.

BTW....KX project drivers dont support the SB live 24bit soundcards according to there site

 

The KX Drivers are great. I think you may be right about the laptop versions not being supported.

By the end of the month we wil have 4 Traktor setups using a standard (well sort of) desktop pc and a creative Audigy 2 ZS sound card running the KX drivers, clean and reliable, and good price for 4 stereo outputs.

We use it for Live TV broadcast, and Traktor has replaced minidisk, CD players and our really OLD Cart machines.

 

I have this card it work fine for been using for about 2 years

 

WHAT?! That's insanity. they would never get me out of the booth.
