When using SFG I can't access the Groove creation seq? When I click on the little triangle in the groove info box I just get a keyboard that pops up and wants me to rename the current groove? I can't open the editor?

I tried adding a new groove and then opening that groove but I still just get the same keyboard that pops up and wants me to rename that groove?

what am I missing, the manual CLEARLY states to click the little triangle and you will be presented with the seq. layout page.

I looked on my hard drive to see if this was also a stand alone product and perhaps the fact that I was using it as plug- in in Kontakt inside of Cubase 6 on a PC was the problem, but no stand alone version was installed on my computer by the SFG installer.

    Huh?

    8 gig ram

Inside the groove info box in the upper right corner of the interface there is a button with a save icon. You use this if you want to add a groove as a user-preset in order to reuse it in other songs. Right above the groove info box there is a text saying "edit". Clicking on this text opens the groove editor. I think you may be confusing the two. Please try to click on the text "edit".

Btw. if the "edit" is not visible then first select one of the mapped grooves by clicking on it or pressing its keyswitch.

I believe you want to start Kontakt Player in standalone mode and then load SFG into it. Anyway, it should behave the same whether it's used within a host or not.

    Half Speed / Double Speed

Is it possible to play the grooves in half- or double speed?

What is the RAM count for Funk Guitar with the preload slider far left?

The playback currently only follows the exact tempo of the host (or Kontakt Player if you use standalone mode).

Although some samples uses disc streaming most of the RAM usage comes from completely preloaded samples so changing the preload buffer size will overall not have much of an effect. Please note that the RAM usage depends entirely on how many chords you map - it changes dynamically. If you map few chords very little RAM will be used.

I need a range of numbers to get a basic idea of what the RAM load will be.

I'm currently not at home where I have access to SFG, but I believe the RAM load displayed in the NI demo video is generally quite representative of the factory chord presets - I'd say 230-300 MB.

The play-along bass uses 23 MB and each mapped chord adds around 7-9 MB to that (if you map few chords use the approximative 9 MB figure, and if you map many chords there will probably be some overlap among automatically loaded related samples, so the average RAM usage per chord would be a bit lower in that case). Please note that this is a rough estimate though. The exact set of available articulations can vary a bit from chord to chord.

    Chord-change-timing

Hello, I bought SFG too. When I record some chords in Logic like one chord per bar (4/4), I hear the chord change not on the "1" of the next bar. I always hear a sort of "chord-delay" meaning the real chord change is on "1+". How can I fix this? What chord lenght (midi-note-lenght) do I have to record in Logic to get an exact chord change on the first not of a bar?
    Thanks,
    Florian

I think it was stated in the manual that you should use a small predelay when placing notes, something like 1/32 before the bar start.

Yes. Try to use a small negative predelay or place the notes that trigger chords slightly ahead of beat. If the QUANTIZE setting on the Settings tab is set to ON (the default value) then the groove will still be played back on beat, i.e. shifting the chord notes slightly to the left will not affect the overall timing of the groove playback. If you get any trouble with the first bar of the song, then you may want to start the song on bar 2 or later in Logic.
