Scarbee Funk Guitarist Problem(s)

Ie bought the download Version of Scarbee Funk Guitarist and all in all I really thrilled of it....

But I have few little Problems, so here my two qustions:


-This Plug -in seems to need alot of work space, so Logic ceashed several times when using it, but the only possibility is to store it in the Kontakt Player and that is normally stored on th hard disk. Is there a possibility to save cpu space when working with this plug-in?

-Ie been recording my first little project with Funk Guitarist. I used some of the Function keys to alternate Grooves while recording and it worked out. But when I play the project back the Grooves sound kind of messed up and change randomly. What could be the problem here....?

What's the specs of your Box?

 

I've tried using Funk Guitarist on my last couple of projects, but it's somewhat unreliable in Logic (I'm using an iMac 2.8GHz i7 with 8GB). Lots of crashes and other anomalous behavior.

Typically, I'm working with very short loops for videogame soundtracks. The last project had track lengths no longer than about 40 seconds each, and used only 1 instance of Funk Guitarist. I experienced several outright crashes, which closed Logic without warning, and the crash report definitely pointed to Kontakt 5.

The other strange thing in Logic is being unable to mute the Funk Guitarist track in the Arrange view -- it can only be muted in the mixer. I've also found some frustration with the "latch" behavior -- the looping continues until you press the off key. I *so* wish that the loop would sound for as long as a key is pressed instead. Perhaps in a future update?

 

did you encounter any synch problems between Scarbe FunkGuitar and Logic ?

it now crashes during edit mode in Logic 9 :-(

 

Never encountered any issues with synchronization... but it hangs up my projects so frequently, that I've had to stop using it. Hopefully, it's just a bug that can be ironed out in an update. The other Scarbee products are so good -- it's a shame that the Funk Guitarist has problems.

 

My Logic was a little unstable until I loaded it up wit RAM. Got 16GB for about $75. Funk Guitarist works fine for me.

 

One very important thing is to play or draw a B2 key-switch ( that stops the playback ) AT EVERY END OF EACH REGION. Otherwise Funk Guitarist will play on and on and Logic will go nuts after a while.

You`ll have also to press or draw the Groove Tabs ( C1, C2 or C3 ) at the beginning of each region , otherwise Funk Guitarist does not know which Groove to play and plays nonsense.


That`s very important when you record the whole song with Funk Guitarist and divide the regions later on.

Since I`ve considered these things Funk Guitarist seems to be more stable.


IT´s also important to update ones NI-Prodicts ( You have to do that manually in the service center )

hi i address this to anyone who may be able to help please,,,,i bought the SFG, download, iso file, i opened it to find 8 files, 6 library and 2 exec, 1 pc, 1 mac, i have pc win 7, i ran pc exec file, says it was successful, but there is no SFG , to be seen anywhere, i have Complete 8, its not in Kontakt 5, CAN ANYONE HELP, ive written to the tach help but they are pretty vague to be honest,,,,,

 

Hello I'm having a problem when using any Fill groove in Scarbee Funk Guitarist, in Kontakt. It never plays the fill on time. It plays it erratically, either earlier or later on time, but not on the precise time. The other grooves are played well and on time, but the Fills for some reason don't work well.

I'm using a macbook pro 13 inch, 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM, OS X 10.7.5 with Logic Pro 9

Please advise.

It´s important to choose one of the basic grroves first (c1,c2 oder c3 ) Make sure that you`ve choosen one of the basic grooves ot draw it ito n the piano editor. The SFG does know which fill to play. It always it needs one one those basic patterns.

Another problem could be that the events in the piono editor are overlapping, try to fix that or try to quantize the events. .

Check for the latency

Make sure your latency is low enough. When I use it in ProTools with H/W Buffer Size set to 1024 samples, it skips many samples and goes out of rhytm. But when I set it to 256 samples, which lowers the latency, it works without any problems...

 

I have the Same issue with Logic Pro X. Usually, it plays the grooves correctly, but when I export it, it starts glitching around and playing the grooves not correctly. I have a friend who has the New Retina Mac and it Works Fine for him.... My Mac: 2,9 GHz Dual Core i7, 8GB RAM

 

I had the same issue with Logic Pro X. Changing process buffer to small seem to fix the problem.

 

My SFG goes in and out of "Swing". If I just use one single pattern the exact pattern with DAW running it goes in and out of "swing"
It's like the "Swing" knob was automated.
If I play the pattern when DAW is stopped - it plays the pattern correct
