Scarbee Mark 1 Instrument can't be played with external keyboard?

Everything I load into my group can be played with my external keyboard *except* the Scarbee Mark 1. It plays just fine with the Maschine pads. I feel like there's something fundamental that I'm not understanding about loading an instrument. Does is this something that others have come up against?

Is your keyboard transmitting its MIDI on a channel other than channel 1?

It's transmitting on channel 4 and trying to change it to channel 1 is not happening. Think I might have a faulty midi keyboard. Will try another keyboard.

For the time being, try changing the channel Scarbee is receiving on to channel 4.

Ok ... I'm transmitting midi on channel 1 to the computer successfully via the external keyboard. I'm watching the midi monitor show the note messages coming in on MIDI channel 1.

When I set up the the group with Source = all and Channel = all or Channel = 1 and play the external keyboard, nothing happens. I don't see the keys light up in the software and I don't hear the instrument play.

I'll look through the forums some more tonight, but if anyone has any other things I should be looking at, I'd appreciate a heads-up.

Try setting the Sound that the Scarbee instrument is on (not the Group) to respond to your MIDI input.

    A) Mr36++ for the incredibly responsive responses!
    B) I ensured that both on the sound and the group, the MIDI source is all and the channel is All. Still no MIDI response from Maschine

Is your keyboard set up correctly in Audio and MIDI settings (File menu)?
(I assume so because you said you could play other sounds.)

Try leaving the Group MIDI input off and only use the Sound MIDI input for the Sound that Scarbee is on. Set that Sound to channel 1. Also make sure Kontakt (the plugin that houses Scarbee - unless you're using the Maschine version, which makes this odd) is also receiving and responding to channel 1 (or omni).

    Hi Mr36,

I have a similar problem: I can get sound from my Scarbee in general per your instructions above; my issue is that I can only get a certain range on my external keyboard- the lowest I can play is D2, so I can play D2 up to the end of my keyboard. Any key played lower than that comes out as blips or is inaudible, but strangely enough I can play C1. I tried transposing the keyboard to no avail. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

    Is this 2.2.3?

I'm currently in discussion with NI support because, if I load more than one sound into a group, and have either of my MIDI keyboards plugged in to control at least one sound, it sounds as if I'm tapping the sustain pedal and releasing straight away - piano, EP, organ, whatever - so that it's just staccato or a 'blip'. This has only been a recent problem and is reproducible, and has destroyed my live setup (I play keys in a band), but I'm hearing nothing back fast from NI.

    Inside Maschine, yes.
