Scarbee Pre-Bass: how do you disable note slides?

    Hello,

I bougt a Kontakt Ultimate license, and I am having fun going through the effects and instruments. The Scarbee Pre-Bass creates slides between notes sometimes. Is there away to shut off all slides, so that whatever I do, it never plays a slide? I don't want any slides anywhere at all. Also, sometimes notes semi-mute, and sometimes there is fret buzz. It seems like there is some sort of smart logic going on. I want everything like this disabled. How do I make it so only the root articulation plays, and it never imposes "authenticity" or "style" on the instrument?

    Thanks for any ideas.

based on how the instrument is played, certain articulations will occur. for example the fret buzz and mutes you are getting have to do with velocity. This is done to try and emulate real playing...if you play hard, you get fret buzz etc. Since there are so many things involved, your best bet is to read the manual. It clearly explains how things work and what can and cannot be "turned off" but can be controlled based on how it is played.

Thanks for the information. It's helpful to know that velocity is a key factor for the unexpected changes in sound. I can try down-scaling the midi velocity or using midi compression or something like that.

I found a work-around that is not terrible: I go into the piano roll editor and find a note that sounds good. I duplicate that note, and then drag-replace it to where the bad note is. Some of the unexpected note variations sound good or at least not bad, so I leave those. But the ones that sound terrible get swapped out with good-sounding notes.

I'm not familiar with the Pre-Bass, but you may be able to go to the group editor in edit mode, find the unwanted sounds and simply lower the volume for them. I had a similar annoyance with the Rickenbacker, I can't remember exactly how I got rid of the noises, but it was something to do with fiddling around in edit mode.

The sounds have a different wav file. Lowering the volume levels appears to keep the same wav file even if you lower the velocity.
