hey all, apparently I'm terrible at searches. I figured there would be a frozen thread somewhere on upgrading from 9 to 10 safely. I've got quite a few active sessions using instruments and some saved presets in 9 and am afraid to upgrade and find my sounds all out of whack or missing.
i've got my libraries on an external drive but, I'll be honest, I've never really figured out how NI saves presets that I alter...maybe I'm getting old but it seems so confusing to me. Reading about other posts about it has only left me more confused.
I bought the upgrade and now have about 48 hours left on before the links expire, any help pointing me to a good post on this would be appreciated!

During the installation process, you can manually deselect all things which you have already installed (from K9).
So only the new additional things from K10 are getting installed (which are not included in K9)

Awesome! thanks! that's what I wanted to know. however, I have some saved patches in reaktor, and I know it's an upgrade, how do I make sure I won't lose old patches?

You can make a manual backup of your files, just in case. Paths can usually be found via File -> Preferences.

In addition (or if you encounter any other problems) you can also contact NI support directly: http://www.native-instruments.com/en/company/contact-ni/
