Tried searching, but I couldnt find the right keyword combination to find this!
My set up is as follows:
Windows 7 Laptop( fresh install of windows), Core 2 Duo 9100, 4GB Ram, 120GB SSD, NI Audio 2 split to a 2 channel mixer with an X1 as my Controller. Latest Drivers for Audio 2 and X1 as of todays date.
In the middle of one of my sets, there was a pause where some announcements were made and so my system was stopped for a good 15 minutes. When I attempted cue up to resume playing, my system stopped responding completely! My X1 was still lit up, but any presses did nothing in Traktor. Knobs no longer scrolled, play button no longer played nor changed light. When I attempted to click play with my mouse, the play button in Traktor lit up but it DID NOT play! I attempted to Close Traktor and Reopen but insisted that"another instance of Traktor was currently running". Look in Task Manager in Processes, Traktor is there, but all attempts to kill it did nothing. Try and shut off my PC and it hung on the Shut Down screen so a hard 1 shutdown and start up later, Traktor is up and running with no issues all night. It seemed to only happen when there was Idle time in playback! Anyone hear of this or know whats happening.

I had a simular problem with traktor not responding, then closing it, and it saying that there was an instance of it still running. I also tried to force close it with the task manager and that failed so I had to restart the computer, no clue what caused it.

This seems to happen when there is a conflict or issue with a device plugged in. When I was setting up my dicers, the same thing happened until I resolved the conflict. All I did was disconnect and reconnect my midi device and it fixed it.

I have noticed that Traktor takes for ever for the services to stop if you leave any controllers etc connected. (in my case they are Midi controllers, mainly Behringer) Turning of the controllers seems to allow the process to terminate and after that you can restart the controllers and then restart traktor and it works OK. Well for me anyway.

It also does not seem to matter when you turn them off, although If for some reason I want to exit traktor and restart I turn off the controllers before exiting Traktor.

It really sounds like your soundcard was disconnected (not physically) during the 15 minute pause, where Traktor was running but couldn't play a track after pressing the play button (which lit green).
Make sure your USB settings in Windows are set to not turn off when idle and make sure your computer isn't set to go to sleep when idling.

how are your usb /midi devices plugged in? using a usb hub?powered or not powered? what is the latency/usb buffer set to? i believe when you have them set tooo low and your computer cant handle it,it'll stop/stutter and traktor will become unresponsive and the kontrol x1 lights will still be lit up and unresponsive.,for this, unplug and close out traktor and plug everything again and start traktor once again.instead this time increase your latency and usb buffer settings.

have you tuned your computer up to run traktor smoother? under device manager, you gotta set the usb connections to not have any sort of power management (so the computer wont cut off the power if not being used after certain time) .this could help if you havent done so.

also,i've recently been using game booster (free to use/download) .configure it and it should kill any unwanted processes (windows updates, anti virus,etc)..also make sure your wifi is shut off.

I was looking at the USB power managment settings and I'll bet my money its that since I had it enabled. dont have a gig for a few weeks, so Ill run it at home and see at that gig. My computer did not go to sleep and I do make it a habit to kill any and all other apps running in the background including my Wifi but I will go ahead and download game booster. Thank you all of the quick replies

Oh, and Latency is at around 13ms. I ran Diagnostics for a good 10 minutes and minimal Yellows. Max was around 2800.
