    Hey,

I've just got Kontakt 4 and Im desperate to know more about the scripting side of things! I'm creating my own instruments and want to know how to create a front panel like the cello ensemble instrument. I have several groups which I'd like to be able to switch between and control effects without having to use MIDI control.

Can anyone help? I'd be very very very grateful : )

    Cheers guys!

You create a performance view for your instrument by writing this in the script editor:

    Code:
    on init
        make_perfview
    end on
Controlling keyswitching and effects is a bit more complicated. But anyhow, read through the KSP documentation manual, and check out the .txt scripts that are located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt 4\Scripts\

    (that's for Windows only, obviously)

You should be able to have that manual in Documentation folder listed. Dunno how it is on MAC, though... You should also be able to download that manual through Service Center.

If you are unable to do so, PM me and I'll send you an e-mail with it.

Did you read the AET section in the manual? It was fairly understandable how to do velocity and group morphings from there after I read it... I think there are even examples.

Ive only got the KSP Manual you sent and for some reason I only got the getting started and service centre manuals when I installed it. Is there another manual? If you've still got my email address fancy sending it over? : )

    Cheers dude!

No biggie... it's weird how you don't have your PDF manuals... you should be able to download them through Service Center!

Anyways, e-mailing the main K4 manual now...

    Hey Mate,

Yer I know I dont understand why I dont have them and theres nothing on the service centre, would it be under updates? Thanks a lot for that manual, think its really guna help! However still stuck on my original problem : ) what im aiming for is a control in the performance view to switch between different groups. I've used the "disallow group" coding for an instrument I've made that only has two groups, but I've also made Guitar and Bass instruments which have multiple groups.

Any ideas or seen any forums or websites that might help?

Check this out as well if you haven't seen it already: -

They should be exactly there. ;)

Also, how do you want to select your groups? Are they supposed to work like keyswitches, but used by clicking the buttons on the interface? Give me more details, as much as you can.

    Hey Buddy,

I was hoping to make something similar to the group switching on the cello ensemble. Some buttons in the performance view where I could select the group without having to go inside the instrument. Well for example I've made a guitar instrument, that has 9 groups Single Note (Sustain, Stab and Muted) and then the same for Bar Chords and Triad Chords, so ideally I'd like to create three knobs, one for single notes, one for bar chords and another for triads. Then each knob would have three options on it for sustain, stab and muted. But if i can't figure that out any simple group switching in the performance view would be good! : )

    That better? Cheers Dude!

Which options would you like to edit per group? More details please :)

    Hey!

Just on/off for each group, but if you know how to control effects in the performance view as well id quiet like to be able to do that too : )

    Cheers!

So, you need NINE buttons for group on/off?

Effects can be controlled as well from the PV, it's a bit more work.
